As a property owner, I called on behalf of my tenant who was dealing with a unit not blowing cold air. I called Sherman and before I could describe the specific issue I was immediately asked “who is paying for this” to which I responded, initially it may be my tenant but ultimately, I will. He responded that “until that was totally figured out the call was not worth his time.” The tone surprised me but I then told him I would pay. He then said “okay give me your credit card number and authorize 600 dollars worth of work” he continued that “it wasn’t worth his time to come out for a 30 min call if he didn’t know how long they would be there.”
Bottom-line, the logic of Sherman made no sense and he was extremely rude. The irony is two fold – 1. I and my tenant are active duty service members with no issue affording the service call and 2. My unit is so old that I am having it replaced but Mr. Sherman never let the conversation get that far and missed out on an opportunity. I hope he wakes up on the right side of the bed tomorrow.
