SenSpa

Product and Familiarizing not good

Valerie J. know most people have an awesome experience here and Valerie J. once did as well. Unfortunately Valerie J. have recently had a few bad experiences and Valerie J. don’t want to complain and gripe so I’m just gonna mention a couple of tips I wish Valerie J.knew about walking in.
First off, when getting a massage Valerie J. would make sure it’s not the ‘new guy’ and that there isn’t a language barrier between you. You could get hurt due to miscommunication.

Secondly, when speaking with an esthetician and purchasing new skin care, beware their return policy is only 14 days. I bought some skin care products recommended by an esthetician, two weeks after using it my skin started to react, I kept using for a couple more weeks assuming my skin was just in transition or maybe my hormones were temporarily effecting my skin condition, but it was worsening. So I stopped using it and immediately my skin returned to normal.

So I went in to talk to the esthetician and she recommended I switch to the line that is specific for sensitive skin. In my first meeting with her I adamantly described my skin as sensitive and she boasted that all the products were safe for sensitive skin. Why she didn’t just sell me the line that I actually needed in the first place is a mystery. Anyway, she said there was nothing she could do for me as for exchanging the product, and the front desk did nothing for me either except explain that they have a strict 14 day return/exchange policy. So I’m out over $100. And still looking for a good skin care line, from a company that has a good exchange policy, even Target has a better return policy! I was really surprised they didn’t want to work with me on this, I was looking forward to using a high end product and familiarizing myself with their services, but I will not be returning. Hope this help you navigate through your purchases (:

  1. I decided at the end of a long day to take a chance and call SenSpa.

I decided at the end of a long day to take a chance and call SenSpa. Was there a chance they had an opening at 6pm? Sure enough. Very smart, they have therapists on call. Very, very smart.

When I got there, I was shown to the beautiful locker room, changed and spent some down time in the relaxation room. While there, I enjoyed some of the delicious dried fruit and tea. It was lovely.

  2. I have been to Sen Spa twice and it's a beautiful place.

I have been to Sen Spa twice and it’s a beautiful place. The staff is nice, the treatments are great, and the spa itself is dreamy. It’s amazing what millions of dollars can do to a barrack, really, you’d never guess the beauty that awaits you when you step inside.

The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that, alas, it is way overpriced, maybe to make up for the aforementioned millions of dollars of renovations. A great splurge, but for regular treatments I go to more reasonably priced expensive places..

  3. Too much $$$ for less than a stellar experience.

It’s impeccable design is a delight, the equipment state of the art, but twice now I’ve requested a particular treatment and was dissapointed. Too much $$$ for less than a stellar experience.

  4. The spa itself is beautiful.

The spa itself is beautiful. With clean locker rooms and plenty of snacks, I can see how this would be considered an Oasis in the middle of the presidio for some.

I had Kristen for 90 minutes yesterday for a hot stone massage, and I have to tell you it was the absolute worst massage i have ever received!! The bed was amazing, soft and warm, but they actual massage felt like my 85 year old grandmother was my therapist.

She was weak (after specifically requesting a strong therapist) and payed no attention to the problem areas I clearly mentioned before my treatment. I had to ‘remind’ her to please focus on my shoulder numerous times, which ruined my ability to relax and fall asleep during the treatment.

About 50 minutes into the treatment, it was SO bad that i considered just asking her to stop as I laid wide awake staring at the wall. For $180, this is unacceptable.

  8. I had the best massage of my life at Sen Spa.

I had the best massage of my life at Sen Spa. I get massages weekly, and have been to spas all over the city. The experience was 100% due to Martin, my massage therapist. He was absolutely amazing. His pressure and technique were just perfect. He was attentive and focused.

I was radiant and glowing afterwards, giddy almost. I highly, highly recommend Martin for anyone who wants a truly blissful massage experience. He’s the best therapist I have ever worked with. He also brought out tea and chocolates for me and my friend afterwards. He is truly amazing. I can’t wait to go back.

  9. Ahh... what an amazing place.

Ahh… what an amazing place. when in need for some pampering check out senspa. I had a facial that that was out of this world and I can’t wait to go back. I love the different sample products that you can try and their selection of exotic tea is amazing. It also makes for a great birthday gift.

  10. So nice I do not have to drive to Napa to get a local day of relaxation.

Wow , so relaxing, massage and facial was great. They had a beautiful interior, showers, lounge, fireplace, beautiful bathroom, and massage rooms are big.
Even snacks, dried cranberries, nuts, fresh fruit and water.

  11. Not really satisfied.

It’s apparent that this is a business ($$$) oriented spa, that doesn’t place enough concern or emphasis on the clients. It’s really a shame that they’ve wasted such massive amounts of resources and space on hip-looking lounge areas (and a strangely appointed foot treatment zone), but really skimped on spa amenities and quality staff.

The whole design of the spa along with the way it’s ran, feels like a bunch of corporate deviants had decided to dip their hands into the, deliciously prosperous, “Zen Spa” cookie jar.
