Seal Real Estate
Lack Of KnowledgeDisappointed. I absolutely regret ever hiring Jimmy after my father passed away and we were looking for a dependable and experienced real estate agent to sell his house.
Unfortunately, not only was Jimmy unfamiliar with the area of my father’s house (because in his small world, Orange County is the real estate center of everything), his lack of knowledge about the house misled us list the initial sale price a bit too high.
Worst of all, however, was when Jimmy then claimed it wasn’t his fault for not knowing there was a showing the night before we opened escrow–and that showing led to an offer that was $10,000 more on my late father’s house the day we opened escrow!
Jimmy’s carelessness and irresponsible behavior (“It’s not my fault–how was I supposed to know there was a showing when the agent didn’t call me??”) caused my family added grief and pain during this difficult time so soon after my father’s passing.
When I explained to Jimmy that some agents know how to avoid this issue (some scramble the lock box so the agent is forced to call before the showing or the others receive an email no matter what when the house is shown), he shrugged and was clearly not open to suggestions for how to become a better real estate agent.
Would you risk perhaps the biggest financial transaction of your life with someone who could care less about becoming a better agent, someone who accepts NO responsibility when your family loses about $10,000 because he doesn’t anticipate an agent may not call before a showing??? He also has poor communication skills and only worked to improve them after I’d repeatedly asked him to be speak clearly many previous times.
They didn’t call me.” GO ELSEWHERE.
