Disappointing. We ordered two bookcases from Saah Furniture, and paid extra to finish them. The shelves themselves are all the same size (almost straight, but a little warped, a curve visible a curve visible when placing a shelf on my marble countertop), but the bookshelves are different widths, which means that the same shelf is tight in one spot and wobbles in another.
Worse, the finishing job was very poor. The back of the cases and edges of the shelves were not finished at all – the only color was stain which dripped over the edges. The rest of the shelves were stained, but not well at all. The color was not rich (did they put any varnish over the color?), and the light grains of the pine visible. Also, the stain has rough smear spot throughout it, even the weak shine is broken.
All-in-all, they make me sad when I look at them, properly built and finished ones would have cost the same in a regular store, and I would have done a better job finishing and varnishing it myself. Also, the back piece of the cases is surprisingly thin for so tall bookcases, although that is my fault for not looking at the backs at the models lined up against the wall in the store.
