I had my insurance with another company and when they raised their amount, I switched to State Farm insurance. Ryan Janet was my agent and his office was close by. So, there wasn’t any problem in opting for him. I am here not to talk about the company or the charges, but Ryan himself. I am not a kind of customer who crib for everything. I am patient and was the same with Ryan. The insurance company provided me a decent quote, but the communication and documentation part were in hands of Ryan’s office.
Once, I paid for my insurance policy, I found out that the people at his office and he, himself was not interested in soling my problems or clearing my doubts. I also got a better quote from some other company and to make a quick decision, I asked for a refund that was possible as per their terms. Mostly, I was disappointed by the attitude of Ryan which seemed too laid back to depend on. I have other priorities in life and I did not have much time to follow up with my insurance agent. Hence, I asked for a refund.
They took several days to get me the cheque. I had to call many times to remind of the refund and he was trying to convince me for staying with his company. But, I completely rejected all the offer. After a week, he sent me a cheque for $13.13. I couldn’t believe it. I was expecting a cheque of around $155. Apart from that, there was no detailing of the refund amount in the courier package. So, I called him and asked for a detailed statement which accounted for such a low refund amount. He, as usual, said that there would be the statement with the cheque and I was mistaken for not finding it at the first place.
I had to send him pictures and talk to him for next 15 minutes to convince him that there wasn’t any detailed statement. However, he kept repeating that his office never makes mistake. It would have taken 5 minutes for him to mail that copy to my email, but he chose to argue with me on that topic. So typical of him. This was the reason, I never wanted to do business with him.
I think, he does not understand the courtesy of asking for apology from his customers and making things right. I believe, he is paid for making customers happy. But, all he did was, made me even more furious. This is not the only case, I was facing this issue from start and with every mistake, he would turn the finger to my face. Beware, Ryan Janet is a man with unpleasant attitude. He is not someone, with whom you would like to deal with.
If you want a smooth insurance plan that goes on without these speed breakers, turn your back towards Ryan Janet.
