Roe CPA, PC

Down In A Respectable Manner

I contacted Mr. Roe seeking a tax accountant. Our initial phone conversation was pleasant and seemingly very promising.

The next day I emailed him to attempt to schedule a time to meet.

The following day I had not heard back so I called him again.

He answered the call and he said he had not received my email.

I chalked up the missing email to me not having the correct email and we moved on.

We agreed to meet in person to discuss my tax needs at the buckhead location.

I showed up on time and after waiting about 15 minutes I received a text message from Mr. Roe saying he had been in a fender bender accident and was running late.

Rather than waiting for him to show up, I agreed to meet him the following day.

The next day we met as scheduled and discussed my tax needs.

Again, he seemed to be a very promising person to work with because he struck me as a very competent and capable tax accountant.

He took down my email address and I confirmed that I had his correct email as well. (I did have the correct email).

He said that he would email a link to upload the information discussed and we could begin the process.

I went out of town for a couple weeks and never received his email that he said he would send.

When I returned to Atlanta I reached out to him again via email and never heard back.

A few days after that I text him and never heard back.

At this point I suspect that he would not like my business.

I figure it’s because I’m just a small fish and I don’t run a Fortune 500 company.

But that’s a speculation on my part because Mr. Roe didn’t show me the courtesy of turning me down in a respectable manner.

  1. They are available when I need them

Roe, CPA handles my law firm’s accounting and tax service needs, and has done so for over eight years. They are available when I need them; they do a fantastic job; and I am so glad to have them handle these matters for me, so that I can focus on my business and clients.

  2. Do Not Use John Charles Roe, CPA.

I tried using Mr. John Charles Roe, CPA for his help and recommendations for my tax return. In the early part of , I called him to see if he could help me on a refund of 5,033 dollars that I was supposed to get back in. I explained my situation to John Charles Roe and he sounded very pleasant and confident that he could handle my problem.

He charged me 100 dollars plus a service charge for the amended return which was great. He told me to wait about 3 to 4 months which I did, but I get a letter in September stating that my claim, that he helped with, was denied because it was expired. So everything is good up to this point.

I am disappointed and frustrated with John Charles Roe because he would not pick up my phone calls about why my claim/amendment was denied. In other words, he took my money and then when I had a problem, he left me hanging. In conclusion, I went to a different tax preparer and I did get the refund that I was trying to get on April 30. Do Not Use John Charles Roe, CPA.

  3. Unreliable.

Unreliable. Just could not get any follow-through in a timely fashion. Seemed like a nice guy so I was very surprised and disappointed.

  4. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Very disappointing.

We’ve had our taxes done with Roe CPA for a few years before we moved from Georgia on a referral and they are HORRIBLE! We wouldn’t have gone back except the fact he had our previous year and we thought it would be easier.

If your not a business don’t expect your taxes to be done promptly no matter how early you get them in. Do not expect returned phone calls even in the off season of taxes. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Very disappointing.
