Rocky’s Autos Inc.

Very Dissatisfied With The service

Arriving at Rocky’s Autos Inc., the gentleman who showed us around the lot was very friendly and helpful in finding the right car for a first-time driver.

He even offered to buy us breakfast and was nice to the kiddo.

Should have listened when they said “No warranty, car is sold as-is” bought it anyways, and the “Check Engine” light had turned on before I even pulled into my driveway!

That’s when it started shifting very jumpy and making a terrible smell.

We called them up and drove back down to the dealership asking to exchange for a different model and were denied.

Went to an official Mazda dealership (which was the model I’d gotten) and the Transmission was completely shot.

Repairs would cost more than the check I’d just written 2 hours ago.

Rocky’s finally agreed to see us, and made me sign a contract stating that they were only repairing my transmission as a courtesy and were not legally required to.

Even then, when I drove my car back home after said repairs, the same light popped back on.

A couple visits later, they repaired the issue by replacing the transmission completely (used, of course) and swore up and down that this is not how they do business.

Two weeks after that, I had to replace my catalytic converters for quite a pretty penny.

Very dissatisfied with the service and quality of the vehicles they sell.

Be prepared to have your car keys taken hostage if you go in with a trade in. May I suggest calling the police. Not kidding you’ll be there for several hours asking for your keys back. I’m a mechanic and it would have cost several hundreds to fix the hidden problems in what they tried to sell me.

  2. Scammer

So, I went to Rocky’s Auto on Feb. 19th 2018 to get a vehicle for my 18 year old stepson, we got a 2000 Ford Explorer and it seemed like a decent vehicle, until we had it looked at by a mechanic friend, and when he took off the passenger front tire, all the brake parts fell apart, the caliper was put on backwards, the pads fell out, the whole front end was almost falling apart, bolts missing, took it back to Rocky’s the Manager (General Manager) not really sure, but he had a attitude from the start, basically trying to say that it was my fault and why, why, why did you not let us know, well first off, I have to find time, I work a full time job, I have teenagers to run around, we were moving like a week after we purchased the vehicle, so needless to say, the vehicle was not driven much. So after the Service Manager took a look at it, we ended up getting basically a whole new front end. new brake pads, rotors turned,

I do appreciate that they did take care of the vehicle, but the point being that this should have been taken care of before you have people buy a vehicle. I will never buy another vehicle from them, just because of the way the general manager was acting. This is very bad business. Please watch out and check things over before you purchase a car from Rocky’s Auto in Colorado

  3. Unfortunately I have dealt with Rocky's auto.

Unfortunately I have dealt with Rocky’s auto. When we found the vehicle we wanted to buy, they kept switching up the sales people on us to keep us on there lot. When they test drove my trade in and told me what they would give me for it. I said I wasn’t going to purchase from them, and they held my keys to my car hostage!! Until I said I was going to call the police!

  4. I wouldnt recommend nothing from this lot

I have seen some of these cars come into my shop. I wouldnt recommend nothing from this lot

  5. would not ever buy a car from here again.

i just bought a car not even a month ago, before leaving, my boyfriend made sure to ask if the belts had been checked and replaced. the guy assured me that there would be no problems and everything was fine. bot even a week later my car started to make weird sounds.

it finally got so bad that i called and asked if they had checked my car before i left and if there was anything they could do for me since i was PROMISED nothing was wrong. Greg told me that there was nothing he could do, and to get it fixed somewhere. the whole conversation was very negative and the guy had a big attitude. would not ever buy a car from here again.

  11. Be careful about buying a car from Rocky's.

Be careful about buying a car from Rocky’s. Take a mechanic or someone knowledgeable about cars with you if you even go there. Or insist on having it inspected before you buy. They obviously put some stop leak stuff in the car we bought.

  12. Worst car buying experience of a lifetime by the vehicle

Worst car buying experience of a lifetime by the vehicle within a week it was in the shop 4 times after that I told him I want my money back and since I paid cash they told me to kick rocks the used car manager told me don’t mistake my kindness for weakness will never buy from these clowns again if you want a lemonade stand of a car go to rockys autos oh when the funny part was some outside company came out and wash the vehicle shag man is a SHAM

  13. Bad Services.

So I’m guessing yelp is riged because I put a nasty review on here how funny it’s gone now Rockies is absolutely the worst experience of my car buying life they rip you off high pressure sales the meat you at your car as you drive into the parking lot shag man is a sham

  14. These people really need to explain their hours better.

These people really need to explain their hours better. The only way you’d know their hours are by watching their commericals. And they say they’re open daily. When I went today, they were closed…

  15. Worst Comapny

I just noticed on Tom Martino’s that the Sales Manager is the top review of the company. So sad that the grandson of the owner is so desperate for reviews he places his own on the site.

  16. BUYER BEWARE!

BUYER BEWARE! They took advantage of my elderly parents and sold them a used car for +$3,500 over the TRUE value of the car as stated on Edmonds and Kelly Blue Book.

  17. Bad Service Provide

I like to shop on line, most dealers give you pertinent information on a vehicle, Rockys gives you NO info other than a picture. I want to know price (without calling) mileage, wheel train, until this happens, I will go to dealers that offer information in their adds.

  18. NOT recommended.

i explained that none of these surprise taxes where ever included in any of my paperwork or the deal itself and multiple people told me all taxes and fees were included. He shut me down yelled at me and made me feel like i had no idea what i was talking about.

I got no where with him. I then realized he would do nothing for me when he specifically stated “If you think you are going to get any money out of this your not” at that point i told him i would be reporting rocky’s auto to the BBB and thanked him for his time.

If you are reading this NEVER buy a car there you will be cheated in some way or another, and Issac the “Manager” should be fired and get some customer service training and social skill training because he lacks both.

  19. High pressure vultures waiting for you to die on the sales lot.

High pressure vultures waiting for you to die on the sales lot. I have never heard of a policy where the vultures have to be with you at all times…BAD BUSINESS! And very unprofessional atmosphere. I would never deal with these circus clowns. PS. I found an awesome deal at “GO” with no vultures or circus clowns.

  20. I am not satisfied at all!!

The only thing he is interested in is the almighty dollar and has no concern for a customer who is sincerely afraid of driving this car. When I told him I was afraid of getting in an accident he said ”

well I hope you don’t. What a jerk!!!!! I may not have a lot of money to buy a car but you would think they would try to help and not be so quick to say no..

  21. My husband and I went to check them out.

My husband and I went to check them out. The cars were dirty on the inside and smelled something awful. This was a few years back but the shape the cars were in was enough to keep us away for good.

  22. WOW these people are cheaters and liars!

WOW these people are cheaters and liars! I recently purchased a vehicle from Rocky’s. The initial experience was o.k. my salesman Brad Vogt was a nice guy and didn’t pressure me at all which I liked. I test drove a car I was really interested in and told them a flat rate I was willing to pay out the door with ALL taxes and fees included.

They met my price i paid cash and drove my car off super happy. Well it’s 3 months later and reality hits. I go to the DMV to purchase my annual tags for the vehicle and the clerk informs me that a huge tax of $416.00 which is normally paid by the dealership was not paid and it was my responsibility to pay it! After the other charges of the plates which were the normal fees to get your tags i paid $500.00 for tags on a vehicle.

I was outraged of course very courteous to the clerk at the dmv seeing as that she had nothing to do with the tax portion of it. So i called rocky’s and after being transferred to 3 different people i was put through to the top manager Issac.

  23. Never Again

He shut me down yelled at me and made me feel like i had no idea what i was talking about. I got no where with him. 26. We arrived at Rocky's and were immediately met.

I’ve been hearing about Rocky’s for a while and my friend wanted me to go with her to help her do a deal because females seem to be taken advantage of. They are high pressure, overpriced, and exemplify a “used car lot”. We arrived at Rocky’s and were immediately met.

I didn’t know my friend had been there before or I would have picked some place else. We were escorted in to Rocky’s and a lady was brought to help us. My friend was in a horrible financial situation and we explained that she absolutely could not pay any more towards the deal and we were looking to trade her Jeep Wrangler in for a less expensive vehicle and some cash back.

I explained she lived up in the mountains and to get home she must have a 4×4 or and AWD vehicle. I also explained my friend didn’t feel well because she is still recovering from having surgery on her spine and was weak and in pain.

  27. Scammer

The golf cart ride never happened and instead of taking us to 4×4 or AWD vehicles we were lead (walking) to the car side and were shown multiple cars which were not anything she could drive home and would most likely cost her cash plus her trade in to own.

Again I said those vehicles are useless because she needs cash back and a vehicle to get up the mountains. We finally were led over to the SUV/truck side and were again shown lots of vehicles that wouldn’t fit her budget. I was told that until we picked one out we wouldn’t know if it would work because the sales manager would then make us a great offer.

We finally found a Jeep Liberty that was over her budget but we were told that we needed to pick something so we took it for a test drive and got back.

They go through the ridiculous step of having you write sold on the back window of the vehicle and writing your name which is a stupid sales technique which I pointed out but was told if she didn’t write sold on it someone else could grab it.

  28. Never Again

We go inside and sit down and of course she goes off to get the initial offer. No surprise she comes back and says my friend would need to put cash down with the trade in which after having said that wouldn’t happen multiple times it’s just highly irritating. I also notice the “fair trade in offer” is so far below KBB trade in values that it’s purely insulting.

I say no way and so she goes off again. She comes back and says they have an older Jeep Liberty which might meet the criteria. We take it for a test drive and I run the info through Kelly Blue Book while I’m sitting in the back to get an idea of what it’s really worth. KBB shows it would bring roughly $2500-3200 on trade in and would sell for $4500-5500.

Rocky’s great price sitting on the windshield was $6599 which is insanely overpriced. My friend is forced to do the stupid write sold on the back window and sign it sales technique again and we go in to see about doing this deal.

If my friend wasn’t in such a dire situation I would have been out of there after the first 5 minutes but I’m not there for me and we continue. They bring out another offer and it’s pretty much trying to do an even trade for a low mileage Wrangler for an extremely high mileage Liberty worth less.

I say no and say if they won’t stop with the ridiculous offers we’re leaving because they’re just wasting our time and insulting us.

  29. Guess the apple doesn't far fall.

The sales manager (David Rockrock) comes out after the saleswoman goes in the back and he shakes my friends hand and says to me that “he’ll talk to me since I’m obviously the one in charge” and offers to shake my hand ,which I refuse and inform him I’m not a fan of his and see no reason to shake his hand.

It’s very insulting to my friend that he completely ignores her for the most part even though she’s the one doing the deal and I’m just there to help her from getting robbed. David then tries to again lowball us and I tell him he needs to quit insulting us.

He explains that he’s offering a fair trade and so I pull out the printouts I have for her vehicle from KBB on trade-in and private sale prices and show him his offer is $2000 below the lowest trade-in offer KBB had. I then explain that I’ve KBB’d the Liberty and his “fair” pricing was far above any retail price for that vehicle.

He then proceeds to try and explain to me about how his trade in offer is fair because they have to put money into it and for advertising and they’d only sell it for maybe $9995. I laugh and tell him there’s no way they’ll sell it for less than $12,000 and explain that I realize they have to invest money and that’s why I was looking up trade in value and not market value.

He continue to think he’s smarter than me and act smarmy but amazingly the asking price for the trade in that I asked for from the beginning he now offers. I get tired of the run around and when we go to leave they finally agree to what we’ve been asking for from almost the beginning. The only bright side to this is they’ve made 2 commercials about me which are 100% flips of reality.

  30. Here's the thing, Used car dealers are Used car dealers.

Here’s the thing, Used car dealers are Used car dealers. They all are in it to make a buck and that’s fine. I know they have ways to make their money, so I’m ok with that. I didn’t like a few things about Rocky’s and for those reasons, I will not go back.

First, the prices are ridiculous. Not trying to be superfluous. Case in point, 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport with 174,000 miles is listed at Rocky’s for $7995. Kelly Blue book is $5500-ish. The car was ticking really loud (maybe a lifter or valve) and the A/C didn’t work.

Went to a different dealer in Parker and saw a Mitsubishi Montero Sport with 160,000 miles listed at $5495. No ticking, A/C worked great. Rocky’s over lists their prices so they get more out of you. Best advice, know the value of the car before you go and show them the actual value.

Second, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR E-MAIL!!!!! within a week after visiting and giving them our e-mail, we are not inundated with spam! I know what you’re thinking, probably some place else. No. I am insanely careful about who I give my e-mail to.

I generally use a dumby account to sign up at websites and have a junk mail address I use for these kinds of things. I do not receive spam on my main address. I unfortunately wasn’t thinking when I filled out the form and gave them my main address.

Yes that was my fault. But now we are getting spammed like I can’t believe. Even my wife noticed the pick up and said (without my commenting) that it had to be from Rocky’s. I could be wrong, I am aware of that. But man, I wouldn’t give them my e-mail if I were you.

  31. The sales people were friendly but controlling.

My wife and I went to Rockys to look for some Chevy Cruises we didn’t find what we wanted but thought I would share my experience. I hate their location its quite a ways out there its hot no trees around anywhere in view the inside of the building looks dark and run down I wish they would do a nice remodel and get some new tables.

The sales people were friendly but controlling. I do not like having someone trying to force a vechicle on me whens it’s not what I told them I was looking for. I get it you got to push a sale and get the cars out of the lot so you can get new ones but come on.

A Nissan Altima and a Chevy Cruise are two different cars and I only wanted the Cruise. Besides the negativity they had some nice vechicles with decent pricing and a lot of choices.

  32. The other people working there were nice though.

Lazy, some guy named Joe, as soon as I walked in to get my seatbelts fixed, he sent me off without even looking at it or helping in any sort of way. Just said “oh it’s done for, cant be fixed”. The other people working there were nice though.

  33. I have never had this much trouble getting verification from a place that I paid to service my vehicle.

Took my car here about 4 months ago for an oil change- the staff was super friendly, reasonably priced and everything went great! Now, my insurance needs verification my car changed states and it’s been almost a week now that I’ve been trying to get just a receipt that this place did my oil change.

I told them how important this was and 5 business days and 4 phone calls later- still have not received it. I have never had this much trouble getting verification from a place that I paid to service my vehicle.

  34. Great service!

Great service! The people are easy-going and friendly and very helpful. Rocky is hooking me up with a little bit of detail my car I appreciate it! Go check them out!

  35. Rocky's Autos does the EXACT SAME DISHONEST, CLICHED THINGS THAT OTHER USED CAR DEALERS DO!

Don’t think, for one second, no matter what Tom Martino says, that Rocky’s is any different from any other used car dealer. The 2003 Saturn Vue they sold us was originally marked at 11,000 dollars, but through their “Red-Tag Sale” and “Matching Down Payment Incentive” they were able to bring the price down to 8,000 dollars (that price is only about a thousand dollars over KBB Dealer price for that vehicle in EXCELLENT condition, which it was not!)

Our salesperson, Heath, said we would need to pay $500 more in our down payment than we had specified we could pay, to which we told him that we needed that money for taxes, title, etc. Heath told us not to worry, because Rocky’s pays ALL of those fees. When the paperwork to go get our plates came in the mail, the DMV was requiring $438 MORE in taxes that Rocky’s DID NOT PAY.

After that, we had a meeting with our salesman and HIS boss, in which he denied saying Rocky’s WOULD pay. Rocky’s would NOT honor the original deal. Be aware! Rocky’s Autos does the EXACT SAME DISHONEST, CLICHED THINGS THAT OTHER USED CAR DEALERS DO!

  36. Wow, what a terrible experience.

Wow, what a terrible experience. I am 20 years old and have never owned a vehicle before. I have been looking for a cheap, reliable, used car. After searching various car dealerships, I decided to check out Rocky’s Autos. They carry a well known reputation for great used cars and great prices. I even felt a little more confident when I found out Tom Martino endorsed their company.

I thought this was going to be the place I would purchase my first car. I was hoping for a great experience, but I did not receive that at all from Rockys. Most of the cars I was interested in were overly priced and had too many miles for their age. Great deals? I dont think so!

The salesman finally helped me come across something mileage appropriate. However, the car was slightly overpriced for its year. The body had some scratches. The tires were baldy (but the salesman, Tom, insisted they would last two years).

It didnt even have the power package(power locks, windows, etc.) After convincing me to give it a test drive, I was interested in the car, but I still wanted to look around before making a final decision. After returning from the test drive, Tom handed me a marker and instructed me to write “SOLD BY TOM” on the back window. Umm…

I dont recall saying I was going to purchase the car. Then he told my mom and I to go inside. We did, and suddenly another man came over to us with paperwork in hand and sat us down. Pushy pushy!!! I looked over the paperwork, discussed some things, then naturally,

I asked for a carfax. He seemed to frown and give me attitude, but agreed. I had to ask several times before he retrieved the carfax. Was he hoping I would forget? Upon returning with the carfax in hand he appeared slightly upset.

  37. If you decide to give them your service, do so with caution.

It wasnt convenient for me, nor my co signer to travel all that way to find out my car was no longer for sale. After telling me what I dreaded to hear about the car I was interested in, he dragged me out to the car lot once again, desperately trying to find me another car.

He started several cars to show me the mileage, etc. (leaving them on and walking away). Apparently he was so anxious to sell me a car he was forgetting to turn the cars off after starting them.

My mom was trailing behind him shutting the cars off. I was ready to go but he insisted he had a car for me. He showed and allowed me to test drive another car. Again, I was trapped with paperwork and such before having a chance to state whether or not I was even interested. I decided to leave. They went from being kind and helpful to rude and pushy. The salesmen were irritating and overwhelming.

They practically ride your ass the whole time, from moment upon arrival to the very moment you get in your car to leave. Furthermore, they scared me when they were about to sell me a car that was later found out to have problems and illegal to sell.

To conclude, my experience at Rocky’s was horrible and very disappointing. Im not impressed what-so-ever. If you decide to give them your service, do so with caution.

  38. Beware

I went to purchase a vehicle at Rocky’s Autos on August 30th. I had been preapproved for a loan, so this was going to be a seamless transaction…I thought. I showed them my pre-approval letter, and Julia Vargas who is a sales person there, told me that I HAD to finance through them, then refinance with my bank.

I figured she knew what she was talking about, and wasn’t doing shady business. Boy was I wrong. I went to my bank on Tuesday after Labor day, and they broke the bad news to me. I have to wait to refinance until after the transaction is all the way through, and the rate they gave me was more than twice as much as the rate I was already preapproved for.

My bank told me that car dealers get kick backs from banks for financing with them. So, that would explain the extremely shady, and extremely unethical business practices Rocky’s uses. Warning to everyone, if you get preapproved, go somewhere else, not Rocky’s, they are “schisters” who are just looking out for themselves, and what will benefit them, and using very shady measures! Beware!!!!!!!

  39. Rocky's Autos Is the toilet of the used car business!

Rocky’s Autos Is the toilet of the used car business! They have a huge selection of newer but very high milage cars that are bought at auction from states where alot of corrosion is very evident under the hood and chassis,

If you decide to shop there make sure that you have the car inspected by a mechanic. A mechanic failed two of their cars saying they would give nothing but future problems. In addition to peddling JUNK, the sales staff knows nothing about cars at all except the price.

They will avoid all questions and continue to ask you to test drive.
Dont fall for this !!!!!!!! There are many good auto dealerships that have low mile vehicles that are priced better than the so called “little profit dealer” Make sure to shop b4 trusting these crooks with your hard earned money.

  40. I will go to dealers that offer information in their adds.

I’ve always heard great things about Rocky’s and I’m a big fan of the local dealers so I was very supportive. until I met my current girlfriend who bought her vehicle she has now from Rocky’s. She was pressured into getting it, had no idea really what to look for or not look for and the sales rep took advantage of that.

she had $1000 for a down payment and a car trade in. she got in a Saturn with over 130k on it and its not a reliable car whatsoever! yes maybe she should have went with someone who was a little more knowledgeable but regardless its the job of the salesman to walk her through her options not oh this ones perfect lets sign the papers knowing there were tons of more vehicles way more reliable.

AND not to mention there’s a wreck on car fax that was also neglected to be mentioned. She is currently looking for a vehicle now and we decided to go back to Rockys, let them redeem themselves and right now we are getting no help! reps saying oh we will call you back, nothing.

Or we need more money or a co-signer?! Why when she would still be in this car if it wasn’t a piece! All we want is a reliable vehicle that’s affordable we really want to give rockys the ability to make it right! Its yet to be seen….
