The Worst Facility

Richard L Roudebush VA Medical Center has been the most horrible facility I’ve ever visited.

This is not true for everyone who works here. I’d rather pay out-of-pocket for good medical care.

 Although there are some genuine employees, the negatives outweigh the positives.

It is truly a tragedy that these heroes must receive such poor care.

Some veterans cannot afford to travel elsewhere.

My father-in-law is having a hard time dealing with the staff.

It would be a great help to have an outside agency fix it.

Update: My wife called to check on my dad, who has been in and out of this hospital for two years.

A nurse at 7 South (Connie) suddenly needs a password. I completely understand.

My wife can guard her father and has medical power of attorney.

She refuses to check on him for the second night in a row.

Both charge nurses had to do this.

Tonight, my wife was twice yelled at and hanged by the nurse.

My wife does not want any information, but she is asking to help my dad, who has called several family members to say he is in trouble.

  1. The do not pay bills if they send you out for community services

    There are many issues with the VA, especially in customer service. The VA doesn’t return calls, and they don’t care about vets. The VA hospital departments. The advocate and appeals offices are useless. I called and left VM in 2019 and spoke with the advocate office. I haven’t heard back since.
    They don’t pay bills if you send them out for community service; I received a statement more than 1.5 years ago. The appeals dept. Or the dept. This is supposed to help with a bill from the community, and the vet is asking for assistance to review charges.

    No one pretends to know or understands why the VA denied payment. Nobody returns calls or emails. If the VA hospital isn’t helping the VETS, what is its purpose?!

  2. Never again!!!

    The VA Doctor is terrific, but the Pharmacy needs serious updates. I have to ask for refills of the medication that I need. Sometimes, I run out of medicine before they send me more. I need it so badly that I have to wait for them to send more! I am a Disabled Vietnam Veteran. It doesn’t matter what I have to do – I need it when it’s available!!
