  1. Do not use! You will regret it.

Do not use! You will regret it. I would have to put them in the crooks category.

  2. Bad Service Provide

Everything leading up to the move met our expectations. The estimate we got from Tim Granata was professional and thoughtful. He actually spent time trying to figure out how many boxes of books we would have, which was something that the other people who gave us estimates simply didn’t do. The estimate Tim gave us was also a fair bit lower than what we got from the other companies we considered using.

The loading process on the day of the move also met — and even bettered — our expectations. Though the moving crew (Renzo, Steve, and Humberto) showed up a little late because of traffic, they were very efficient in getting to work quickly. My wife and I were both impressed by how carefully they packed our items.

We’ve both moved cross-country a few times before, and we’ve never had a crew put so much effort into padding and packing everything up. This was really impressive work, and all the more so given how humid it was that day. All three members of the crew were sweating a lot, but they still displayed admirable endurance and patience throughout the entire process.

After a really good start to our move in every aspect, things went slightly downhill after this. There were first some mechanical problems with the driver’s truck, and this, we were told, would cause a slight delay in delivery, although still within the original window of dates that we’d been given.

And then the news got worse after that. The expected delivery date was pushed back further, right to the end of our delivery window. And then one day after that. Then three more days. And, finally, one day after that.

  3. Overall I was happy with the service and would recommend them for a long distance move.

We used Allied/Reebie to relocate from Chicago to San Francisco in February. They offered us a great price compared to a big competitor of theirs. About 40% less actually. The man who came to assess our move was great and the price he quoted was the same price we paid after all was said and done.

Because of the busy street we lived on and the tiny street we were moving to they had to move everything 4 times. Out of our places into a small truck then they transferred everything into the semi they then drove to CA. Then they had to transfer everything again to another small truck and then move into our new place.

The point is that they took great care because nothing was broken or even scratched. We packed all our own items but they do offer to pack them for you as well for an additional fee. The movers on both ends were friendly and courteous and worked quickly but carefully.

My only complaint is that we paid an additional fee to have our stuff arrive in CA within a 5 day window and it took 7 days. They offered to reimburse us for the additional fee we paid and our hotel and food expenses we incurred during the delay. Overall I was happy with the service and would recommend them for a long distance move.

  4. Is their any wonder as to why we would never trust our possessions to a hostile service like Rebbie?

I’ve had two previous moving experiences with Rebbie. When they sent an estimator “Bill” for another transcontinental move he was clearly from the “Planet of No.” My wife and I found him arrogant, condescending and unwilling to find a creative solution to our timing issues.

We were clear about even paying premium costs to meet our deadline, which was three weeks away. His initial email bid was incomplete of information, clearly indicating he did not want our business. I needed something to compare to another bid. In the end, when the other highly reputable service proved to do everything they could to meet our needs, we politely alerted Bill they had won our business.

Bill’s response was entirely passive aggressive and included a bitter remark about hopefully the other service would live up to its promises. Is their any wonder as to why we would never trust our possessions to a hostile service like Rebbie?
