My husband and I have not seen Eric for 5 months, and during that time we have found a LICENSED Therapist that has thoroughly enforced our opinion of how awful Eric was in our couples counseling. We took significant time to reflect on our experience with him, wade through the damage created, and work together in a positive experience with a true professional (LMFT, LPC and MA). We are writing this review so that another couple does not entrust their relationship with someone who absolutely does not have any business working in this field.
Eric’s lack of formal therapeutic education and licensing shows through in his inability to deal with difficult relational issues. We often left his sessions divisive and unable to speak to one another, which is the opposite of our new experience. At times, we felt it was a game and he was only there out of self interest. Both of us felt he needed the money over a desire to help people. Often he was not serious about our situation, and that came through in damaging advice and odd experiences in sessions.
Eric fell asleep in two of our sessions and told Nikki to “make decisions from her vagina” in a solo session. His boundaries were highly unprofessional and we would NEVER recommend to see Eric for help with your relationship.
(We we’re unaware of his lack of licensing until another reviewer pointed it out. And in our experience we found out how very important this is when seeking help. Without that he is just a random person in a coffee shop you are entrusting your life with)
