Primary Care Medical Associates

I Was Very Upset With This Development

I have been a patient of Dr. Perlmutter’s for over fifteen years.

I had a yearly physical each year.

This year I was out of town and missed it by two weeks.

He refused to refill a routine prescription until I had an office visit.

I was very upset with this development but I have also been dissatisfied with recent care.

During my last visit, I told him I thought I had a hernia. He didn’t even examine me but said I should see a surgeon.

It turned out that I did not have a hernia just swelling but he couldn’t be bothered to investigate He also listened to my heart and lungs through my shirt – which is not a sound procedure.

His care seemed cursory and I concluded that he was primarily concerned with finances, not medical care.

I don’t recommend him and I say this after many years.

  1. Dr B is intelligent, caring and a good listener.

The most I can give is 3 stars, but Dr. Sheila Bhagavan really deserves 10. The first thing she does when she enters the room is smiles and asks you to get off the examining table (where you are sitting waiting for her) and onto a chair where you feel more relaxed: there she talks to you as a person – not just her 11 o’clock appointment.

Dr B is intelligent, caring and a good listener. She seems to say the right thing and have the right answer. In addition, she will treat you as an individual and will go along with what you have to say – if it is good medicine.

I get my questions answered feel better than I have for a while and I owe her a thanks for this. Dr B, if you read this,

  2. I wondered whether something was missing.

I have been going to Primary Care Medical Associates for over 10 years. Dr. Perlmuter is a great doctor and his associate Dr. Sheila Bhagavan is exactly the kind of physician I’d expect him to partner with. After having a child and going to gynechologists for several years, I wondered whether something was missing.

This year, I returned to Primary Care Medical Associates for all medical care and preventative care and they completed an exam that included a blood test. I have been diagnosed as anemic and though no gynecologist ever drew blood for work up a full screening, which is a lot less invasive and less expensive than treating medical problems.

Thank you doctors for your hard work and dilegence and going the extra step to be responsible to help us prevent and discover underlying conditions that others were not even testing for!

  3. Hope and pray that one of the doctors of this medical group is taking new patients.

Hope and pray that one of the doctors of this medical group is taking new patients. I have been a patient of Dr. Nancy Zamora for about 15 years and she is a credit to the medical profession. First she listens and really takes the time needed to help figure out what’s going on with you and how to take care of it.

She is caring and compassionate and even during times when I did not have insurance she made it afforadable for me to continue to utilize her as my PCP. There have been occasions when I have had to see other doctors and they were awesome too.

The staff is professional and responsive. I wish everyone had access to the same quality of care that I have and I am grateful for Dr Z and the rest of the PCMA staff.
