I went into the office feeling confident and left his office feeling like I had a very ugly smile. I found the dentist not very personable and he pushed products on me that I didn’t want. I didn’t want to have Invisalign but he felt the need to tell me that it wasn’t pretty to have straight teeth on on the top and crooked teeth on the bottom.
I felt very down and until I went to another dentist, I began to feel better about my smile again. I didn’t ask for him to criticize everything about my smile, I just wanted to fix my two front teeth that needed to be worked on.
He even found it somehow appropriate to bring in a women into the room and he had her smile. After she smiled, he asked me, “Don’t you wish your smile was as pretty as hers?” I wanted to run out of there and I cried all night. I couldn’t stop looking in the mirror and wondering if my smile was really that bad.
