Paychex

What a Headache

I can’t recommend Paychex to anyone. What a headache. In 3 years we had 6 people working on our account most of whom where completely incompetent or didn’t work full time.

I had to call payroll in by a certain time every 2 week but it was impossible because the person who I was supposed to contact wasn’t around.

When I emailed her changes in rates or reimbursements she messed it up 9 out of 10 times.

She even paid our bonus checks to us in direct deposit form after 5 emails telling her not to.

I don’t think it’s her fault, I think it’s the companies lack of training and high turn over.

Recently, after switching from Paychex I received a bill for late tax payments from the state.

They were paid every month last year on time except June, July, September, and October.

I was told by the manager at Paychex that this was our fault because we never told them that we were no longer paying quarterly taxes and needed to pay monthly.

This makes no sense because the days that should have been paid on is one month after the end of the quarters so April, July, October, and January.

“The penalty comes from our not having the proper deposit frequency for Colorado Withholding.

I looked back at our records and I don’t see where you sent us a frequency change notice from Colorado. They normally send those notices in the late fall.

If you have an email or some record that shows you sent us something from the state telling you to deposit on the monthly frequency instead of quarterly, then I can make a case to pay or request a waiver for you on this.

It would have been something that you should have sent us anytime between November 2013 and early 2014.”

With all of the screw ups monthly it’s amazing this company is still running.

  1. I agree with another reviewer...Paychex has gone way downhill.

I agree with another reviewer…Paychex has gone way downhill. They are horrible. I’ve never worked with such incompetent people. I own an accounting firm and we do not allow our clients to use Paychex as a payroll service provider. Their customer service is so bad.

After we terminated an employee, Paychex paid the employee and debited our bank account for not just one payroll after termination, but they did it twice. We had to have our bank put a hold on our bank account against all Paychex debits because it’s the only way we stopped them from paying the terminated employee and taking fees after we were no longer a client.

  2. I don't want trouble, I just want to live......Just Aguy

I cannot access my account. Support hung up. I NEED my last 6 paychex stubbs hardcopy for housing and cannot get them. It is my civil right to have them. They are by law obligated to give them to me.

Tomorrow I will drive 35 miles to there offices to demand them. I will document it and put it online. This is a chance for them to do something right. Or violate my civil rights. I hope they give them to me…… I don’t want trouble, I just want to live……Just Aguy
