Rental-Apt w/ 1 Yr Lease at $700 per Mo, $500 Dep, Listed Normally @ $2200 per

Airbnb Email- [email protected] -Scam Email for Airbnb per Olivier Bisset [email protected] Message Host- [email protected] a $500 Security Deposit THROUGH an Airbnb Bitcoin Account and Then Will Set Up A Meet-Up and Show Studio Apartment at 6400 Christis Ave in Emeryville CA for $700 per Month and a Year Lease. Looked Up a Studio for that Apartment Complex and found out it went for $2200 per Month..RED FLAG?!?!?!

I first saw it on Marketplace on Facebook. It lasted for a few days on that site and dissappeared. Then told us he was sorry about not getting back sooner because out of town.Wanted me live there right away and soon sent an email about a confirmed reservation without paying security deposit first. See below Airbnb Emails and Host Emails Think this is a scam…

`Said he was able to choose payment method cause he was basically burned by a false credit card. So decided to not make a Deposit because investigated and determined to most likely be a scam. Also reported to Airbnb- [email protected]

  1. He's in Seattle

    Thank you for your inquiry,
First of all, sorry for the late reply, your email went into my spam folder.
The apartment I own on N 104th St ,Seattle, WA is available and ready to move in as we speak at a monthly rent of 600.00 for the entire property. A few things about myself, I am inspecting offshore oil rigs. Most of the time I am offshore, I return a few times/year.
If interested, please give me some details about you (age, lifestyle or whatever you think makes you a good tenant). A few things about the apartment to refresh your memory: The utilities and HOA are included in rent, 1br, 1 ba, apartment. Also the parking, there is a private garage included.
The rent is for the whole apartment, I will not stay there because I have another home from the oil company.
The condo is furnished just like in the photos I sent you, it also has a washer/dryer. I will move my extra furniture in the storage if you have your own, you choose what will remain, so basically, you can rent it with or without my furniture.
What else…? the neighborhood is very safe, behaved pets are permitted (there is no pet fee).
The move in-amount will be the first month + one deposit.

I would need a few rental details as well, how long do you plan to rent, starting when?

I’m currently on an oil rig but I could plan a swing back to arrange a showing. I’m sure you will love it, no one lived there since I’ve taken the photos.

Yep he is a scumbag. He recently sent me an email saying he had a 1 bedroom 1 bath condo and downtown Reno rent for 500 rent they’re usually not less than 1400 told me he was out of town inspector oil rigs myself I used to do Geotech Drilling for the last 15 years I had asked him several questions about drilling rigs he seemed to avoid those questions and then wanted $1,000 deposit saying he couldn’t get back to land until the end of October and that I could live there for free until he got back on dry land yeah right this guy needs to be tracked down and caught I read so many stories on this guy taking people’s money and I agree with you like to track him down and beat the you-know-what out of him.

    1. San Diego

This guy is a complete scam. I almost fell for it completely till I searched him up as well! I was so excited because my family was looking for some place cheap and nice since I just had my daughter. He emailed me the same email as many and told me he couldn’t meet me till the end of October but that I could live there for free for now since he couldn’t make it over faster. I was really falling for it till today that i decided to search it up. The condo he was saying is located at Eighth Ave San Diego Ca. I really did believe it but well thankfully I searched him up as it sounded to good to be true. Also since I kept insisting that we wanted to meet with him he ended up saying “i have no reason to come other than the rental so the trial is compulsory” trying to basically say it was mandatory for us to go try living for free.

  3. RENTAL SCAM IN NAPERVILLE IL

Listed “his” apartment at 520 Burning Tree Lane in Naperville (forrent.com) Rent $500/month. This is half the price of going rents in the area. Thought maybe it was a typo until he responds that he is a “70 year old man who works as an offshore oil rig inspector”, etc, etc. Was willing to “give” us the apartment for two months free until he got back into town “after” sending $1000 deposit via AIRBNB and providing our ID, SS, or passport info. We said, we’d love to pay for one year upfront if he can provide us with HIS NAME, SS, BANK ACCOUNT INFO …. lol. No response back from him. What a loser. Why can’t this guy get caught already?

Hello, thank you for your inquiry,
First of all, sorry for the late reply (I had a terrible week at the job).

A few things about myself, I’m 70 years old and I am inspecting offshore oil rigs. Oh, and you can call me Ollie. Most of the time I am offshore, I return to Seattle a few times/year.
If interested, please give me some details about you (age, lifestyle or whatever you think makes you a good tenant). What else…? the neighborhood is very safe, behaved pets are permitted. The move-in amount will be first month one deposit.

Unfortunately, I don’t think I can return on dry land until the end of August due to my job so I can’t meet you face to face until then. But I have a solution.
    Here it is:
I am going to list the apartment on HomeAway or Airbnb, (you choose which one you prefer or the one you’re more familiar, both are multi-billion rental companies like google or amazon) you reserve the place and you can live there at no charge until I come back from the oil rig. This way you’ll have like a trial period until the actual rent starts so you can familiarize with the neighborhood, the apartment, the amenities. I think is only fair to have this period before you jump into a large period commitment.
They will only require a $1000.00 security deposit to cover any potential damage cost or if the apartment will not be vandalized or something. This security deposit will be fully refunded the same day the trial period ends.
Once you confirm the reservation I will mail you the key with FedEx at your current address. Then I’ll sort my trip and we can have the rental agreement signed and all. If by any reason after the trial period will end you decide not to go ahead with the rent, just let me know so I don’t have to make this long trip.
To be honest, the trial period helps me a lot too. I get to see how you maintain the apartment and I have the certainty that I don’t make the trip just to show you the apartment.

If you’re aboard, just let me know if you prefer Airbnb or HomeAway, send ame your full name, rental period and a copy of your ID (front and back) or Passport so I can activate the listing and send you the rental offer.

    Best Regards,
