I own a small business. We have been providing best services to our clients since our inception. After digitization, a lot of things changed, and we also wanted to scale our business. Being a middle size company, we had limited funds and to compete with big companies needed a lot of funds to start with. I never had the planning of introducing an investment partner in my company. However, looking at the brighter side, I chose Oak Hill Capital Partners to help me with the excess finance that I couldn’t handle alone.
We had words with the team of the company and they assured that they would come up with the best solution and plan for our expansion. The team even came to our office to access the documents and the nature of our business. I was glad to find someone so super active in delivering their services. At first, I felt they were the best I could have. However, as time passed, I realized that my notion about this company was extremely wrong.
These people are looking for profitability but only for themselves. Being someone seeking help doesn’t make us incompetent. We are best at what we do and that is the reason we are looking for expansion. Usually, a company seek outside investment when there is not enough fund for investment in the real time basis. If I wanted, I could have waited for few more months and have accumulated that kind of fund before planning the expansion. But, I did not want my company to stay behind for any longer.
But, Oak hill capital partners seemed opportunistic. They dictated the terms that were wrongfully defined. I had my attorney to access everything. When they sent us the final draft, I was completely shocked to see that there was nothing for us. The entire agreement was made taking them in consideration.
I spoke with them and they said that they cannot do anything about it. They had to cover for the losses if made. But, they had nothing for us n exchange. They kept us waiting for a month before sending us the agreement that no business owner would except. I believe that they did it on purpose.
I have no problem with them rejecting us. They must have the guts to tell me the same on my face. I trusted them. They were very positive during the meetings that we had with both the teams. They sounded as if everything was perfect. But, the backed out after a month of documentations and financial assessments.
We gave them all the information that are private to the company and could cost us huge problem if compromised. We trusted them. However, they did not even notify why they backed out. Instead they found out a reason so that we deny their services. These people are manipulative and very dangerous for your business. If you wish to save time and find someone who really cares, never seek help from Oak hill.
