New Penn Financial

Company Employing Liars

Avoid New Penn Financial. There are plenty of honest mortgage companies out there.

Why go with a company employing liars?

Our loan officer, Robin Warrens, lied to us on two occasions.

The first occasion began when my wife and I asked for our rate to be locked at 3.75%.

She responded the next day by saying that our rate was locked as of that day and that we would be receiving a form to sign to that effect.

We waited a week before emailing again to inquire about the form as we had not yet received it.

She responded that day by saying that our rate was locked but at 3.875%.

She wrote in her email to us that she thought that “we had discussed this.”Of course, that had not happened.

We had no email notification and no phone contact with her.

I will apologize and withdraw this complaint if Robin can provide so much as a phone record stating that she spoke with my wife or I during the week since stating that our rate was locked while referencing a document listing 3.75 as our rate.

I contacted Robin’s supervisor to have him correct her behavior. He did. However.

No apology was given. And while we requested a new loan officer on account of Robin’s behavior, our request was not granted.

In fact, Robin then called and left a rude and unprofessional phone message.

On the second occasion that Robin lied, our realtor was reviewing disclosures a week prior to closing and noticed that some closing costs were being billed to us.

Our realtor emailed Robin (while cc’ing us) to ask for an explanation as the understanding was that no closing costs were to be billed.

As I saw no response from Robin to our realtor, we emailed her asking for an answer.

Robin emailed back to say that she had already responded to our realtor in stating that they would be removed just prior to closing.

This was a lie and our realtor immediately noticed and wrote her back to say that she had received no such response.

When I emailed again (while cc’ing Robin’s supervisor) Robin responded by rudely stating that it wasn’t her responsibility to explain things to our realtor – completely ignoring the fact that she had just lied to our realtor, my wife, and I.

Further, it was our understanding that we were to have received a final loan disclosure document 10 days prior to closing.

We didn’t see the final document until we were at the signing.

We had to check whether or not Robin had changed the terms of the loan at the signing.

Our experience with Robin Warrens and New Penn was extremely unpleasant.

We will make sure that everyone we know and who will listen will know about our experience.

  1. This place sucks.

This place sucks. If I could give them ZERO (0) stars or MINUS stars I would. I agree with Mike S. and Carl R. On top of it all, if they are going to charge me extra to pay online (which they ALSO LIED ABOUT), then I want to see my paper statement EVERY SINGLE MONTH, which they have ALSO lied about sending!!! I can see it getting lost in the mail one month…MAYBE.

But two months in a row? C’mon now. I guess I’m going to have to run real, real fast to catch up with that turnip truck I just fell off of. But then again, It looks like my troubles and woes with New Penn are small potatoes compared to some of you other poor buggers!

I guess I should be thankful??? Thank GOD I did not opt for auto-pay. If my payment is going to be delinquent, I would rather it were my fault, and NOT THEIRS!!! Boy, if it weren’t for Susan B’s review right below mine (and maybe one or two others), New Penn would have just about flatlined at 1 star. Susan B, etal, New Penn thanks you all very, very much!

  3. I would not recomend this company

We do NOT need robocalls from New Penn AT 6:30 at night interupting dinner for stuff we have no interset in. I never asked them to call me I do not need them to call me. I would not recomend this company

  4. These guy are horrible.

This is by far the worst mortgage company I have worked with. My loan got transferred to them and I have not once been able to talk to anyone who has been able to answer any questions.

I have called three times in the last two weeks and written two messages on their wed chat. Not a single reply. Save yourself the time. These guy are horrible.

  5. They have been unhelpful resolving this problem that they created.

I have been paying mortgages for over 30 years and have NEVER run in to an issue until New Penn (unfortunately) purchased my mortgage. They have lost one of my checks- the first rep I talked to essentially accused me of not putting it in the envelope,

the second rep (Chris) actually helped and made an inquiry to the payment processing company. It’s been over a week with no update on the whereabouts of this check. My email/inquiry last week has gone ignored. They have been unhelpful resolving this problem that they created.

  6. Stay away from this company!

My mortgage got transferred to them from Capital One and I could see the difference right away. Poor website, email addresses that bounce back, customer service that can’t be reached. Stay away from this company!

  7. I can clearly see this is a company to never do business with.

Just received their “fee schedule” after my mortgage company sold my account, wow, what jerks, just for an example, the “litigation fees and costs” went from 350.00 to 20,000, you read that right, and “attorney fees and costs” went from 30.00 to 35,000.

An appraisal went from 95.00 to 1,000. These people are crooks, I will be looking to refinance with my credit union asap, I’ve paid every payment with my previous mortgage lender on time, I can clearly see this is a company to never do business with.

  8. My loan was transferred to New Penn from another institution.

My loan was transferred to New Penn from another institution. I then paid off the loan and they were to send me the balance in my escrow account as required by law.

They told me they mailed me a check that never showed up then told me they would do a wire and that hasn’t shown up yet either. I think the fact they had to change their name says it all.

  9. They no longer have a site to look into. What do I do? .

They said paperwork would come that they no longer would have my loan. My payment is coming up and don’t know where to make them. They no longer have a site to look into. What do I do? .

  10. Worst company to work with no clue whether their costumer service is fit for any kind of job.

Worst company to work with no clue whether their costumer service is fit for any kind of job. Even managers promise to get back but don’t, my account was moved to well fargo from them on nov 20th when it happened both the parties claimed that my loan is with them by making me pay jan due twice.

New penn got the Jan payment even thought its moved to Wells fargo they did not transfer that pymt. Whenever we call them there will not be any answer to any questions. Its really frustrating to work with them, its like talking to a wall.

  14. I highly recommend that you ask your realtor agent for there recommendations

If I could put minus, I would. If you are currently looking for a loan , as a realtor I highly recommend to never use this co or there New Co name of NewRez. They had a client and had done nothing with there file and kept telling the client there attorney everything is moving right along and they will be ready for closing.

Well closing is here and they had done nothing and now the client is being charged for fees that the seller is acquiring do to they can’t close on there property and all there stuff are in trucks and can’t close on there buy. So they are currently living in an empty box with kids.

New Rez was like well not sure what we can do but try to get this done. The point is your lender has been telling everyone via email that everything is good and we will close on time.

I highly recommend that you ask your realtor agent for there recommendations, they are the best person to direct you to the right people who will handle your file like it was there own. This is the first I have ever written a review. But I felt I need to really let consumers know what they are getting into.. So this FYI
