I signed up for Nationwide long back and was operating all my transactions online. I had also initiated auto payment for the insurance and it was the same all through my relationship with Nationwide. I trusted this company. I never doubted it and in return, it paid me back with mistaken fee and unnecessary charges for being a loyal customer. It surely did not distribute brownies.
I had one car insured with this company. Few months back, I added another car. I did it through my online account. Before adding the car, my payment was $196 and was deducted automatically every month from my bank account. Again, after a month, I went online to add another car and removed the car that I had added a month back. So, I was with my old car and this new one. As simple as that. But, this insurance company turned it into a nightmare for me.
Till now, I was not sure what had been going at my back. After a month, I wanted a copy of my insurance policy card. I logged in to my account with them and found out that the oldest car that was on the insurance list was not listed anymore. Right away, I dialled my agent’s number. Her name is Leorlin. I told her about the issue and she said that it was me who removed the car from the list.
I informed her the entire matter. I said that I removed the one I added few months back and not the one I insured the very first time. She was not ready to believe. However. She added the old car again to my insurance policy. Right now, I was paying an insurance amount of $233. I was calling them back and forth to understand what had happened with my account. Someone from Nationwide had logged in to the system and had removed my car details.
When the old car was added to the list, I was charged $850. I did not understand their calculation and called them back. I was furious as I had the emails for the changed I made to the account. But, I never received an email for the car that was removed by them. I tried to ask them for a detailed policy charges, but they failed to provide that too.
I could not understand, how the amount just tripled when it was their mistake. I never removed my old car. It was them and when I complained about it, I was the one who was made to pay. After that, I never heard from them. They stopped calling and did not send me any emails regarding the insurance amount change. It was not only unprofessional, but irresponsible as well. How can someone expect such a big blunder from a company of this stature.
It was ridiculous, and I signed off. But, I have raised a dispute request and would be waiting for the justice to be served.
