Moore Accountancy Corp
Ongoing Staffing IssuesWe used Moore Accounting for several years for both our personal and corporate taxes.
We found a pattern of them asking for our tax records, receipts, corporate P&Ls repeatedly year after year even though we had already provided it to them.
I personally started to wonder if I was losing my mind. Our bookkeeper would send them our files at the beginning of the year and then months later they would ask for them again.
We finally started documenting electronically what we had provided them so that we could resend it again when they would inevitably ask us for the materials.
They had ongoing staffing issues, at one point his wife was working the reception desk because one of Scott’s main people had significant personal issues.
Unfortunately we let these shortcomings continue.
The straw that broke the camel’s back for us was when we had started documenting electronically as well as our phone conversations what they were provided and what else they needed.
We started these efforts the first week of January.
As expected by April, we were asking what the status was with the filings and this key person working for Scott confirmed that she had done everything she could and our taxes were sitting on Scott’s desk for his review.
Well they sat there and sat there and by July we were asking what was going on.
By October, Moore Accounting finally sent us paperwork about filing our taxes but I noticed one key detail: they had filed them late.
The upshot was we got hit with significant penalties.
We fired them and replaced them with a fantastic CPA firm that has never had these unprofessional and scattered practices.
I would not recommend Moore Accountancy Corp at all to any small business or individual.
