Oh, dear, I wish I’d had the same experience others have had. I stopped in today and it’s true, the furniture is beautiful. But the proprietor (Doug?) was on the phone with his back to the front door, so I looked around a bit, and then said, “Excuse me?” He turned to me, said hello, and then went back to his phone conversation — without even saying, “Welcome, I”ll be with you in a couple of minutes, please look around…” or whatever. So I walked out. He came running after me, asking me what I wanted, but I told him clearly his phone was more important. A while later, I was returning to my car, passing his store, when he came out and called to me, “Did you come into my store?” I said yes. He said, nastily, “I was on the phone with another customer.” I just nodded, and continued walking. How was I supposed to know with whom he was on the phone? It would have taken just a second for him to make me feel welcome before he returned to his call (or to have apologized instead of being rudely aggressive), in order to keep me — and my credit card – there.
