Megastar Financial

Terrible Experience

My experience with Megastar Financial and Matt Berry was terrible. I work in the housing industry, and am therefore familiar with some of the available products (i.e. down payment assistance).

When Matt said he would look into these products for my loan, I thought that he would.

When it was closer to my actual closing date I asked him about a particular program, again he said he would look into it.

Finally, within one week of closing I asked again about the down payment assistance, and he said it was too late, we would have to postpone closing, and made it seem like a real hassle.

When he told me that in an email I tried to call him to talk about it and his voicemail was full (better customer service is available elsewhere).

So I sent an email without being too over the top angry, and the first thing he said when he called me back was “I didn’t read your email but wanted to talk to you…” (I took the time to write out my thoughts, take the two minutes to read it!)

He did not come to my closing, he did not send a card or even say thank you for choosing Megastar.

There are many other lenders out there who will treat you much better than Matt and Megastar.

  1. Michael Dye Fraud

I received a jury summons for someone named Michael Dye at my deceased grandparents house in East Texas. I have never met this person and know my grandparents have not either. He has attached my grandparents address as his address of residency. This man has never lived in this home. After doing some research, I discovered this man works for this company based out of Colorado and has had 24 residential addresses in the past ten years. We reported him to our county sheriff’s office, our county appraisal district, and the Texas Attorney General. I’m not sure what this man is trying to gain from claiming he lives in East Texas when his office is in Colorado, but it is obviously fraud.
