McKendree Moving & Storage

Plus plenty of wall dings and furniture dings. Beware!

I was only a few miles from my new home. Three men were charged me for the day.

One of them, however, left shortly after and had to go to school.

Although it was a quick move, I found many broken items.

They are missing. Some expensive items, family heirlooms, and much of the pantry didn’t make it.

After numerous phone calls, I finally filed a form for missing and broken items with McKendree.

It was three months ago, and I have not heard from McKendree.

I’m disgusted and sad that McKendree was chosen.

PS. They overcharged me so much; I’m ashamed to say that. I did give them a tip, but it was before I realized how badly they treated me.

They had a soft target because I’m disabled and live alone.

  1. their failure to accept responsibility for the damage erases all the good

McKendree was my packer/mover when I needed to move out of my home temporarily. They arrived on time, they were professional, and I was happy. Everything went well, or so I thought.
They were negligent in packing items. Several small items were damaged, including my lampshades, many bowls, and large hunks wood tables. My kitchen table top was also removed from the base.

I promptly filed the claim and took photos. Then, I waited and called to try and get the damage fixed. I finally got an appointment with the repairman and was informed that there was a $100 deductible. It is in the contract. This is terrible business practice.

The claims manager stated that they could not waive the $100 deductible. They have it in place to avoid claims of $5 and $10 and that “no move will be made without some damage.”

He then equated it to an auto accident and the existence of a deductible. The problem is that in an auto accident, the deductible is paid by the person at fault. I was not at fault, but I am now responsible for the damage they caused.

I don’t recommend this company. They are legally right but morally wrong. Their failure to take responsibility for any damage they caused is a travesty of all good.

  2. McKendree Moving & Storage Is Bad Service.

They provided a quote but charged us more than 30% above the estimate. They also left many wall dings on our walls and furniture dings. Beware!
