Mayfair Medical Group

Wast of time

My daughter is 6 and has always gone Mayfair Medical Group until we moved last year. This year we moved back to where we could return to Mayfair and they WILL NOT see her at all anymore because over the past 12 months we used a pediatrician for sick visits that was closer to our home.

If you have ever tried to drive from Pleasant Grove AL to Mayfair Pediatrics (a block away from An elementary school that does not have school busses) you know the traffic from 2pm till well after 6pm is very hectic to say the least.

Therefore driving a sick child back and forth can take several hours or more depending on the wait time.

Now that we have moved back to Hoover AL and my daughters teacher recommended seeing the pediatrician that she knows and that knows her better they are refusing to even see my daughter as a patient (6years old).

As a single parent of 3 children with only one income, am I wrong for using a physician closer to my home the year we didn’t live close to Mayfair?

Why is Mayfair Pediatric punishing my child for using another physician twice last year??

  1. Terrible customer service.

Terrible customer service. I had to check my daughter out of school due her not feeling well on a Tuesday at 1pm. I brought her home and called the Dr. office. The automated voice said that the office was closed and referred me to calling the message center at a different number.

I asked the person if the office is closed and she said no. I told her what the answering message said, then she put me on hold and contacted the office. The person at the Dr office said that they were closed from 1 to 2 for lunch and that I would have to call back at 2, which was only 4 minutes away at this point. I asked if they could go ahead and put us on the book since my daughter was currently vomiting. She rudely said “No, you’ll have to call back at 2. That’s our protocol.”

It was now 1:58. I said ok and I’m sorry I don’t know your protocol, it’s not on your website or your phone message. She said, ” if your daughter is a patient of ours then you should know the protocol.” Wow! I didn’t know it was on me to know your office protocols. I just want to get a time to bring my daughter in because she is sick and vomiting. She said call back at 2 and HUNG UP ON ME!
