Martin D. Hunter CPA PC

Charged Almost THREE Times

I was charged almost THREE times what I was told the amount would be to process my tax paperwork.

I could have done them myself, but figured I would have this form just do them because I was so busy.

Plus, I got back a fraction of what i normally get so I took it from both ends

. Would not recommend Martin D. Hunter CPA PC at all.

  1. Do they really not realize how dangerous this is?

Secondly, when I picked up my return they provided an envelope to send my payment to the IRS. The envelope was just a plain white envelope that could easily be seen through. Why wouldn’t they spend a few extra cents and get the security lined envelopes?

Maybe it sounds like I’m being nit-picky, but when I put the required paper that clearly shows my name, address, and social security number along with my check in it… you can clearly read all of the information. Needless to say I ended up using my own security lined envelopes. Do they really not realize how dangerous this is?

If you read the paper or watch the news you would know how massive a problem identity fraud is in our country. I don’t find it acceptable for any company to be so ignorant of data security in this day and age. Especially when I’m paying significantly more to go to a CPA over H&R Block. I expect more.

  2. Being new to the area and needing a new CPA to do my taxes I decided to give Martin Hunter, CPA in Beaverton a try.

Being new to the area and needing a new CPA to do my taxes I decided to give Martin Hunter, CPA in Beaverton a try. I will say that they were fairly quick and efficient when it came to filing my taxes, and their process was simple. My problem with them is the way that they handled my private information like my social security number.

After they e-filed my taxes they emailed me a status update. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem, and I would gladly accept the convenience of an e-mail over an office visit, however, the email has my IRS client number and my social security number on it.

Anyone who knows anything about the internet and security knows that email is far from secure and shouldn’t be used to pass personal information. There is a reason why hospitals and other institutions are prevented by law from transmitting personal information over email.
