Disappointing!

We came to Marie via a recommendation from a friend who had her file his taxes a couple of years before so we had high expectations.

However, these expectations got destroyed when the tax filing finally happened and she send us her bill.

The process of filing our taxes with her was already pretty inconvenient as we had to be at her office and walk her through all our papers we had collected.

Why do we need to be around for that – she should be able to figure that out by herself and not take our entire afternoon for that.

Our previous accountants at LMGW were able to do all the work by themselves.

When she finally (after prodding her twice) send us the papers for the filing she included her bill for $570 which basically left us speechless.

This is by far the highest bill we have been presented with so far and her services required much more of our time than other accounting firms.

She had basically copied the previous tax filing (from LMGW) entirely and charged even more.

Needless to say that this was a onetime mistake. We will likely go back to LMGW which has so far been our best experience here in the Bayarea.

They are not cheap (in 2011 they charged us $500) but they do a great job.

We shouldn’t have listened to our friend in retrospect as we were happy with LMGW but that’s just the way things go if you try to make something good even better.
