The Worst Weight Loss Traning Center

I joined for Live in Fitness program after having a detailed discussion. I was very particular about few things and needed the program to have all of them. The Live in Fitness center assured me about the quality of program.

I consulted the team to ask them if they can customize the plan with the back-pain issues and they affirmed that they did. It was not easy to choose them because of their expensive fee and the non-refundable option. It was like trusting blind folded. But, I gave them that chance to impress me. I was looking the extend the sessions with them depending on their program’s benefit.

However, when I paid in advance and started with the program, I realized that their promises were just to be broken. They followed nothing as they said. They are only good at pretense. Nothing happens for actual. There was no modification made to the plan as promised earlier.

I was put with the other people in the same batch that they called the beginners one. But, they were real tough. It was not easy for a beginner to start with a full day work out program that started at 7 am and ended at 5 pm with meal breaks in between.

The atmosphere was unfriendly and overly crowded. They have lots of people in single group which was surely because of cost cutting they focused mainly upon.

The group meeting was held by the instructor who berated people for not losing that week and criticized people for going out on dinner. The next meeting was scheduled few hours later and the staff searched for everyone’s room to look out for outside food.

It was violating and based on few people’s fault, not everyone’s privacy being compromised could have been accepted.

The blast came to me when later in the evening I was called at the office for being blamed for keeping the slider door unlocked intentionally. They said that I wanted to blame them for losing my valuable items.

I was not sure about what she was up to. I never touched any door. She not even let me explain my part and went on cursing me for something that I did not even knew about. It was not at all acceptable. But who cared. I had already done the payment.

They promised that they would provide consulting on diet which never happened. Also, the cleaning was done once a week which made the place gross.

I left early with no positive effects. I met my gym trainer who said that I never had lifted 70 lb kettle bell with my back. Even my doctor was furious after checking my condition which had gone worse because of their irresponsible act.

I would never suggest anyone to pay them for making you a frustrated brat. They do not care about client’s health and instead of paying them hefty of fee, you can count on nothing more than disappointment.

  1. Best Weight Loss Retreat!!

    I have been to two other residential weight loss/wellness retreats. While both were decent programs and nice surroundings, I always felt they were missing aspects vital in a program for great success.

    Here at Live in Fitness, the program has clearly been honed over time to truly give people the knowledge, work and custom edge needed to succeed. While I have only been here for a few weeks, I plan on coming back to improve upon my already great base.

    The tests run aren’t basic or run-of-the-mill, but give fuller reports on a weekly basis for them to adjust and help you maximize your time here. The meal plan by macros, ensures that everyone isn’t eating the same amount of food on an average, but what is actually appropriate for their bodies which is essential for burning calories, increasing lean muscle mass and slimming/toning your body. The food is amazing and the best I have had in any program, hands down, thanks to Chef Jason!

    The owner Eric, whom is responsible for the overall program, a Life Coach, Nutritionist and Trainer, is there for a lecture every week and to go over our weekly numbers. He is there to offer us insight, there to cheer us on in triumph or help us figure out a way to improve if he notices things aren’t going how they should be. The staff are all caring and while they are always challenging you to improve, they are there to talk and listen if you need it. Everyone is willing to adjust placement, an activity, movement, etc if you are struggling! The trainers are knowledgeable and have vast backgrounds and experience. It’s a pleasure to work and constantly learn!

    The daily lectures are also helpful in understanding more about our bodies, how fitness and diet fads vs lifestyle changes affect your body and so much more!!

    I live in tx and have been looking for a place that could help me. I’m 420 lbs, 67 yrs old with a blown right knee. I called Sara at live in and she informed me that they could help me with my weight problem. I aske her if they had wheelchair as I need she informed me that they could get one. She promised me that their set up to help my kind. Well I paid 15,000 dollars for a month traveled 1,200 miles to Scottsdale to find out that live in has nothing their for anyone 350 lbs or larger. I stayed 7 days ended up 4 days in hospital due to their negligence. When I called for a refund live in would not even return my call. I will file a lawsuits over this and if anyone else needs help call me. I have never been scammed so bad. These owners belong in jail. 361 782-1431 . Lot more too but I’ll save it for my suit. Stay away from this establishment all lies

      I am seeing this for the first time. It is really hard to read this review, as I spoke with you Lewis myself when you signed up, and you weren’t interested in a spa but wanted a results-driven program. We spoke at length about your goals and your history with working out, and your injuries and struggles. To say that the program isn’t set up for someone over 350lbs is completely false, as we have had thousands of guests over that weight, that came to the program and had unbelievable results and are so happy they came. I did say that there were places near the facility that could help with a wheelchair if needed, and that we could help you with that if needed, but we don’t provide wheelchairs here. We actually had a guest, who started on a scooter, then we were able to get him to a walker, then a cane to walking unassisted. We modified the program extensively for him, and we were doing the same for you.

      I went back to my correspondence with staff on July 28, 2022, and this was the exact email that was sent by me regarding you leaving early Lewis. “Yes, please speak with him again. Let him know that threatening the business isn’t fair when we have done everything that we can for him and continue to do for him even though he just left and was doing great. We have these policies in place for a reason as he booked 4 weeks and we are giving him 4 weeks. A refund is not an option, though we can put a credit on file for him to come back, which we did. We can move him to a different room where the bed is more comfortable for him, and if he needs additional cleaning in his room over the 1 time week cleaners or someone to do laundry for him, we can have someone do that as well at an extra charge. But he wanted this, and he is quitting on himself. ”

      Between the staff and I, we corresponded with you multiple times after your departure about options for you to come back. We sent you a hold form for your weeks as well. You even discussed the property you own in Texas, and said that it would be amazing for our retreat, and to look it up to see if we might want to do something there.

      We understand that this is hard, but we are here to guide you thru. We are here to listen to you and make any adjustments needed to make you more comfortable, but we do hold you accountable for reaching the goals that you had set. You told me that’s what you wanted as you couldn’t get yourself to do it, and why you were coming to this program. Other guests who were here at the same time as you, left reviews as well, and their perspective was very different. It saddens us to see you felt this way leaving our program after achieving such outstanding results, however, we really do value your feedback, and thank you for voicing your concerns. We promise we will continue to take action toward bettering our program each and every day!

    I worked for Live in Fitness for a while. Unfortunately, this review was standard operating procedure for Live in Fitness. Employees were told to ride the clients – even yell at them – to get the results we wanted. Employess were also threatened with being fired if they didn’t get clients to leave rave reviews on social media sites.

    While the program can work, it’s basically because the client is going to be exercising 7-8 hours per day and starved. The owners don’t care about your health, they care about your money.

      I am not sure how long you worked here at Live In Fitness, but I have been here for about a year, and this has not been my experience at all. I have never heard the term “ride the clients – even yell at them”. In fact, we just had a meeting the other day about how to communicate in a way that lets the clients know that you care about them but still keeps them on track and accountable. The thing is, we really do get amazing results here. I myself spoke with a client about our program compared to others she’s been to, and she said that she never had gotten results like this with the other one, and she was always hungry. She commented that she loved that we do the testing here to determine proper macronutrients and food portions for her because she always thought that she had to starve herself to lose weight, but we taught her the opposite was actually true. She told me that because we focus on not just weight loss, but fat loss and lean muscle gain, she learned how important building muscle is and that now her metabolism is faster and her body is working so much better.

      I feel fortunate to have found a place to work where they believe in respecting each individual person and while it is definitely hard to get every person to surrender to the process, those that do get crazy results. One thing I will say is that Eric, the owner does have high expectations of the staff as he wants to make sure that people are taken care of and are getting the best results. If a staff member doesn’t follow thru or decides to do their own thing or tries to undermine the program in any way, he is very direct with feedback. I don’t have a problem with it and haven’t run into it though, as my philosophies are aligned.

      Wow I don’t know when you worked here. I don’t doubt everyone’s experience but I wonder if it’s expectation and personality sometimes. I’ve been here several times from 2009 to 2018. Each time there were always issues with complaints- usually client to client-like, someone’s bringing in outside food or someone smoking etc, or 1 piece of equipment is broken or the chefs not so great. Ther are so many variables but I can tell you 100% that if you go with a great attitude and work Smart (for your weight) and hard, you will do great.
      The food is usually always delicious. NO one has ever ever said there wasn’t enough food. Many times people were spoken to because they did Not finish their meals! This can also work against your goals.
      Look, no one is perfect, but you work out all day and eat balanced food 3-5x day and get adequate sleep, you’ll be so thankful.
      Just the fact you made a choice for yourself, you’re alone and can focus on your goal, there is no where to gol but up! I was no one special, and got no special treatment but was always helped if in needed it. Always treated w respect and accommodated requests when able.
      I was never ever told to write a review, however was asked to write one and I included the good and the bad. No one told me what to write. I feel bad if people had poor experiences but for the average person (including most overweight people who go) if you have positive attitude and follow the rules you will really benefit from Live In fitness.
      Give it your all but gently so you don’t injure and have to delay program. I do believe the owners have good intentions they’ve been doing for 20+yrs?? And have helped 100s or thousands? All the best to everyone.

    sarah and eric are nothing but scam artist. nothing and i mean nothing is what sarah had said it would be. the only they are serving is nasty food and
    posible staff infections. they promise you the moon and deliver nothing.
    the van smelled of smoke, the fish was gross and raw, they didn’t pay their rent or emplyees. believe the bad reviews go somewhere else

    I am reading these complaints while I am in my final days in the program at Live in Fitness. The people complaining above could not have gone to the same program that I am in. I find the program to be spectacular. I have lost fat and gained muscle mass in just two weeks. For the most part, the complaints sound like sour grapes to me. Everyone that I have interacted with here says that the program is rigorous, but they absolutely respect and like the staff. This program is not for everyone, especially slackers, whiners, or goldbrickers. The program is for people who are committed to developing a healthier lifestyle. No, I don’t work for the organization. I’m just a country girl from Florida trying to live her best life.

  8. LIVEINFITNESS SCAM.....WORST I"VE SEEN in FITNESS

    I don’t want to relive the nightmare. Just know that every horrible review you read on Eric and Sarah at LIF is true. They are scammers. I could go on and on about the particulars. Their biggest scam is they talk you into paying for multiple weeks for a discount and when you arrive and realize it was all lies on their website and you leave, they do not refund money, not one week, not one month, not six months. Once they have your credit card, your money is gone. Then they block you ignore your calls & emails. DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY.

      I wish there was a way to contact the other reviewers, I’m going through the same thing. They have charged my credit card, but I didn’t get the “written clearance from Client’s physician must be obtained, prior to Client’s enrollment in the program”. Instead I had canceled 7 days after I signed and my weeks weren’t even starting for over another month. Help.

    The review here is all TRUE and FACTUAL. I was an employee of Live in Fitness. The con-artist owner didn’t pay our health insurance policy & I wasn’t aware until I went the the Doctor and was told I didn’t have insurance coverage.

    This is now insurance fraud, because the funds were deducted from our paychecks, but not put toward our policies. Many of our paychecks bounced and we had to ‘wait’ until money was in the account. With all the expensive fees and overpriced add-ons, where is the money going? The owner drives a Maserati. All the tips the trainers received from personal training sessions were never paid to the trainers, either. The clients are over-trained & under-fed – leading to metabolic damage & injuries.

    I loved working with the clients, but left my position because I did not want to participate in the fraud any longer. It was difficult to have to comfort the clients constantly when they felt taken advantage of and ripped off. Live in Fitness needs to be exposed. The owner continues this scam over and over in different locations. Do NOT book here. There are many other places (ANY OTHER PLACE) better than this. BEWARE!!!!!
