RIP-OFF ALERT! I visited Dr. Malta because I had been there before.
They agreed to charge me a certain rate because I was a returning patient.
I paid in full with a debit card before leaving the office.
They told me that I was receiving a discount since I had no insurance and was paying for the office visit in full.
I had nothing more than a short consultation for $84.00.
I received a bill in the mail from Novant for an additional 200.00.
I called the office and I was told that there is nothing they can do about it and that I now owe an additional $45.00.
She said they were revoking my no-insurance discount. This is not acceptable.
I do not have insurance and do not have a job at the moment. Everything should have been paid in full.
How can they give me one price and then just charge me anything they want to charge for no reason whatsoever.
I was told when I left the office that I was paid in full. Their office practices are very dishonest and deceptive.
I was told nothing about any hidden charges. It makes no sense.
I will be filling with the Attorney General, Medical Board, etc.
