Keystone CPA

Tax Service

While I am very reticent about giving 1 stars (and have written only a few of them) Keystone CPA truly deserves it.

I bought their book and heard them on a podcast – bigger pockets so I was looking forward to hiring them.

I had set up a “virtual appt” at their request for 2 weeks out. I was to call to Ivoire at promptly 11:00am, I did so, but just got VM.

I left a message asking her to return my call or at least let me know how late she’s running…..still never heard from her.

Clearly they don’t need the business because any company that does a “no show” or a “no cancel” doesn’t appreciate their customers.

As a busy professional – I make a point of respecting other peoples time as I know how important mine is.

Unfortunately they rec’d a lot of publicity from BP’s podcast and haven’t been able to keep up with the demand.

Would not recommend – as important as taxes are – I wouldn’t want to chance the lack of follow-through.

  1. I'm excited and looking forward to working with Keystone.

I first heard about Keystone CPA listing to a Biggerpockets pod-cast. Listening to Amanda Han talk about taxes was actually fun and not boring to listen to. Mrs. Han explains things so clear and precise that a child in elementary school can digest and understand what she is talking about. I was so impressed by her that I bought her book.

After reading the book and listing to her and her husband on you-tube, and reading her blogs it was very clear to me Mrs. Han and Mr. MacFarland clearly know what they are doing and keep up to date on tax changes. The one thing that Mrs. Han always speaks on is educating her clients as much as possible. To me that is key.

I reached out to Keystone and had the pleasure yesterday to speak with Mrs. Ivoire Young. I have to say I was blown away with Mrs. Young knowledge and professionalism. We spoke on the phone for 30 minutes. She was very attentive to my needs and seem to really understand what I was looking to do to grow my business.

Mrs. Young went over some of the services they provide and offered me free education material. She even explained to me if there is anything she could do for me in the future to please contact her. She also said that she would check up on me from time to time to see how I am doing. When speaking to Mrs. Young it seemed she was more excited to be speaking with me and joining her firm then I was.

With this level of great customer service they offer with just a phone consultation, I can only imagine how it will be working with them. I’m excited and looking forward to working with Keystone.

  2. Bad Service

I’m very pleased with the outstanding service my husband and I have received from Keystone CPA. We initially just wanted a review and 2nd opinion on our return, but unfortunately found out that our previous CPA had made numerous and serious mistakes.

Keystone refiled for several years and we received several thousands in refunds. At every step of the way, Amanda & Matt have been consistently professional, responsible and proactive.

  3. Never Again

I originally contacted Keystone CPA a few years ago when I discovered them via BiggerPockets. My CPA at the time basically became non responsive once I started asking him about using my retirement to invest.

I reached out to Keystone and spoke with a gal named Ivoire and she was super helpful even discussed some innovative ideas for me at that time. I felt so relieved to finally speak with someone who not only wanted to help but who understood where I was trying to “go”.

At that point I was behind on filing my taxes bc I had decided to not allow my old CPA to file so unfortunately that was not a service Keystone could assist me with at that time.

Ivoire was very kind in letting me know and gave me a referral to another CPA who could at least file for me and she encouraged me to contact her back once the return was filed so that keystone could work with me for planning and then file next year’s returns also.

  4. Keystone is a serious firm with an Not excellent team.

I consulted Keystone for my taxes, Ivoire was able to answer all of my questions, she is Not amazing!!! Keystone is a serious firm with an Not excellent team.
