Karen List – Sereno Group
She Didn't Do Anything ImpressiveI worked with Karen List – Sereno Group almost a year back when I was thinking of buying a house.
I went by reviews but now I think if these reviews are really true or not.
In two visits, I found nothing amazing about her. In fact, she even tried to rush us during our first home tour.
I didn’t realize what a Realtor should do until I met a good one through redfin.
Yes, I met 3 different one based on the home areas- like santa clara, san jose & fremont and each of those were experts, very friendly and took time to answer each questions.
And most of the time all tours were very much guided tour where they go through each aspect of the house & areas.
If Karen is really good, may be she gets there after 2-3 visits. But based on 2 visits and couple of mails, she didn’t do anything impressive or even putting any efforts.
She seemed to understand our situation and take it in stride.
At the beginning, my husband and I were not entirely clear about what we wanted to buy. Our first outing with Karen was to look at investment property (apartments). On our second, we saw condos. On our third, we saw homes.
Initially we were open to areas at the extreme eastern portions of San Jose (Evergreen) and the extreme southern portions (Santa Teresa) as well as the mountainous area of Los Gatos. Throughout it all, Karen was patient. When we made an offer and withdrew before she had a chance to present it to the seller, Karen was patient and understanding. “I’ve had this happen before,” she assured us.
She was even patient at the end of the process, before the house that I wanted became mine (after no longer being mine when the short sale through which I’d had an accepted offer fell through because the lenders decided to foreclose).
At this point, I told Karen that I thought we’d been priced out of the market and would be unable to purchase property in San Jose. She seemed to understand our situation and take it in stride.
