Jordan Credit Union

James Nelson Is Horrible

The new president of Jordan Credit Union, James Nelson is horrible. I have been with them for 26 years.

It was never explained to me how the reward checking dates worked.

I always assumed that it was from the first day to the last day of each month.

Lately I’ve been missing my interest for the month because of the dates being off and not having the right number of debit card transactions.

I always make sure I do have enough transactions for the reward interest based on the 1st to the last day of the month.

I couldn’t figure out why I kept missing the monthly interest. Finally, I figured it out.

When I contacted the new president about the error, he wouldn’t help me out or act even remotely interested in making it right.

The old president was more helpful. The have quite a large amount of money in checking, hold a large mortgage with them (several refinances in the past) with the credit union and IRA’s and he doesn’t act like he cares.

I guess I’ll take my money elsewhere.

  1. Bad Service Provide

My wife and I opened our account almost a month ago. We were drawn to Jordan Credit Union because they have some sweet incentives for checking accounts including cashback and boosted interest rates provided you meet some minimum requirements (most people can hit the 3 requirements pretty easily). We were happy with the initial sign up process and the people we worked with were very personable in helping us open our checking and saving accounts.

At the time they were a few weeks away from releasing a brand new website and mobile app so we waited to access our accounts through those means. Everything seemed fine. We had received an email confirm our transfer of funds (to fund the accounts) was processed and some welcome emails.

  2. I understand closing an account that doesn't meet the funding requirements but never telling me is the problem.

Then came the day to login through the app and online. When I tried to sign up for mobile access the process was just as expected. Create a username and password, enter personal details and account details to verify identity, and then submit. Boom! My mobile access supposedly already existed. Well that was concerning so I called customer service. Customer service then proceeded to tell me that no such account actually existed but rather that I could not access it because my accounts had been closed since there was no money in them. WHAT?!

After further digging it looks like the person who helped set them up must have entered the account number wrong before trying to fund the accounts so no money was ever put into them. I understand closing an account that doesn’t meet the funding requirements but never telling me is the problem.

  3. I plan on coming back to him in the future if or whenever I am need of another loan.

I have been working with Elmer, one of the loan officers at the Sandy branch, and he has been very helpful and efficient in not only getting my car refinanced with a much better rate, but also as I look for a boat.

He has been patient and has explained step-by-step how the whole process works so there are no surprises. I plan on coming back to him in the future if or whenever I am need of another loan.
