John Ro, EA

Very Poor Experience

Very poor experience . Made my appointment at 9 am on a Saturday morning , should have know John Ro, EA was unprofACCessional when he showed up late.

I asked up front the cost , and was told $150 for personal returns and $75 per extra form.

My prior year returns were two from a ( personal and small business ) so I was expecting a $225 bill.

After meeting with him and sending all my information, I notice there is a very careless mistake amounting to a meaningful amount of money.

I made an appointment to see him again to discusses this error , and once again , he was late.

I had to point out the error to him as he couldn’t figure out was was driving it.

Finally figure the return was complete , then a receive a bill for $750, and he mentioned nothing about pricing increases along the way.

Very deceptive and unprofessional. I would avoid .

  1. Bad Service Provide.

So my husband is on H-4 visa and needed to submit W-7 and we went to John Ro for verifying his identification documents. I had everything prepared, all John had to do was put his sign on it. He charged me a steep $150 for just that. A couple of weeks later,

I got a mail from IRS asking us to submit my husband’s documents either in original or certified by the Embassy. I thought since the only thing I paid the $150 to him was of no use and not accepted by IRS,

I asked John for a refund. Of course he refused. And so, for all of you in similar situations, I’d suggest go straight to the Embassy or go to an IRS service center and save you hard earned $.

  2. In response to the review, John left

In response to the review, John left: Most of your feedback is false. I have 70+ documented attempts to contact you. You were clearly avoiding the situation.

Thanks for the great suggestions, but for most, and specifically me, the purpose of hiring a CPA is to take care of the details. I know how to type numbers into boxes, that is not helpful.

I needed someone to help me keep track of everything else. I trusted you as my tax guy and you let me down. Thanks for the $100 discount though

  3. Scammer

John seemed helpful at first, but after I dug a bit deeper, I saw MAJOR flaws in the returns over the past 5 years. After I brought them to his attention it became really difficult to reach him.

He would not return calls or emails. I even stopped by his office, and they said he was not available. He would only pick up calls when I called from other phones.

It cost me thousands to correct his returns with a new CPA. I requested a refund and his response was: “The fees you paid were credited to the time I spent preparing your tax returns.
