John Coats – Finance of America Mortgage

expect ethical service

I know many have used John Coats – Finance of America Mortgage and he must do a good job in general but my experience with him was absolutely horrible! He is extremely unethical. If you need a loan officer you can trust don’t use him.

He gave personal credit information to my real estate agent which, I know is not ethical and is illegal, and she was a family member.

As you can see I love supporting local business and he made me go to quicken loans after him and of course their lines are recorded so they are extremely careful and professional.

I have since purchased two homes and I am about to purchase an new one I am now using a local loan officer and the difference is night and day.

She is extremely professional something John was not.

If you are a simple case and he can close you very easily he is great but if you want to trust your loan officer and expect ethical service he is far from ethical.

    John Coats- Terrible

Absolutely horrific- John and his team took almost a month to try and process my loan, along the way John would remind me how much he was doing for me and my difficult case. Then when they finally had loan approved they tried to screw me with interest rate and charges. When talking to him and Betty on the phone, they tried coming up with every excuse in the book, including telling me interest rates went up. Don’t fall for it…interest rates were actually down. Instead of trying to work with me to try and keep my business, he wanted for me to tell the seller to come down more money. I was really discouraged, so I made some calls and had another company look into my documents. They had me approved in 1 1/2 days. On top of that a significantly lower interest rate and closing costs. My payment was reduced over a 150.00 dollars a month. For all you math nerds, that is an $1,800 annual savings and over 55,000 dollar savings on a 30 year mortgage. Do not waste your time or money with John or his team. This was a very hurtful experience!!!
