John C Fremont Healthcare District

Indecisive And Rude

Long story short. I was involved in a car accident and had bad neck /shoulder /back pains.

I waited around for hours. Was seen by John C Fremont Healthcare District. Gave me a cat scan.

After hours they came up with the diagnoses that I had a C4 fracture but could not tell if it was active or not so they said I should take an ambulance to the Trauma Center in Modesto.

They also put a very uncomfortable neck brace on me that made the back pain even worse.

Throughout the only experience, I only saw the main doctor once and no one was able to give me a precise answer on what was wrong with me

Suggested that’s why I should go to the Trauma Center and that I was lucky to be alive and that I could be in critical condition.

They tried pushing me to take an ambulance, making me believe that if I even move my body wrong I could become paralyzed for life.

I declined and my father came to pick me up. Throughout my interactions with JCF, most of the people I dealt with were short, indecisive and rude.

Arriving at the Sutter Health Trauma Center, they reviewed the catscan results from JCF and found that I had a very bad neck sprang and that the fractures were very old and had long since healed.

I was seen by a couple doctors and the last one, a neurologist took the neck brace off immediately.

The people at Sutter Health were patient, kind and sincere with all of their interactions with me.

I would have posted this in 2015 but life got in the way. I would not recommend John C Fremont Hospital at any cost!

  1. It's nice to have a hospital in town, but unfortunately

It’s nice to have a hospital in town, but unfortunately, The service I received at the John C Fremont Hospital medical center in Mariposa California was not up to my expectations. I went in for a physical. Had a wonderful doctor. I had blood tests.

I waited a few weeks to hear back about my blood tests, but no one called. I called the hospital. They said my doctor had resigned. No one there would give me my blood tests. I went into the lab and got a hold of my tests, but there was no one to explain the results to me.

  2. This ER is terrible.

This ER is terrible. they had so much trouble getting an IV started on me that they left 6 gigantic deep bruises on my arms that still haven’t healed. The Doctor (Wythe) accused me of being on drugs and for only going to the er to GET drugs.

When I told them to test my urine or my blood to prove that I wasn’t, he said “No, we’re not doing that.” Another awesome quote from that night; “It’s not our job to try to FIGURE OUT what’s wrong” I also got yelled at for giving a girl who was throwing up and crying a cup of water. Fuck this place.

  3. Negligence runs rampant here.

Negligence runs rampant here. The hospital is filthy and the ancillary staff violate privacy by talking aloud about patients. About a year ago I took my husband to the ER for symptoms of a stroke or brain hemorrhage- the worst headache of his life and intractable vomiting. The physician on duty insisted that it was “neck strain”. Two days later, my husband was not improving and we went to the Fremont clinic.

This time I insisted that my husband get a cat scan. I am a retired RN with over 30 years experience and found this doctor to be arrogant and dismissive. He refused to order the scan and instead gave my husband a shot of Toradol for his excruciating headache and an antiemetic for his vomiting. He also said to me that I was overreacting just a bit.
