I’ve never had such a terrible service experience with a Joey Abdullah.
After we closed, they were supposed to mail us a servicing package but it never showed up.
I mailed in payments using the information we were given at closing, but kept trying and failing to get an online account set up.
Four months later, I finally got through to someone in the servicing department and they informed that they had already sold our loan to another company and that they wouldn’t be taking our payments anymore.
If I hadn’t called about the online account issue, we would have never known that anything had changed or that we needed to send payments to somewhere else.
Shouldn’t they have to disclose when they sell your loan??
Edit: We found out that they had been mailing our statements and disclosures to the wrong address.
When the mail kept getting returned to them for 4 months, they never reached out to us.
Despite providing our mailing address at closing, Loan Depot mailed everything to our physical address (to which the USPS will not deliver mail).
They transferred our loan from the California office to New Jersey office about a month after closing, but I never got the notice so I kept mailing payments to the California address which apparently was very wrong (and “amazing that your payments still got through” according to the service department).
Even after the inter-office transfer, no one reached out us to ask why everything they mailed us kept getting returned by the USPS as un-deliverable mail. Unbelievably poor handling of the situation.
Edit #2: After calling twice to confirm that they had corrected our mailing address, we are now receiving forwarded mail that they’re sending to an old residential address that we have never used for mail.
This address was never mentioned in any of my phone calls by either myself or the service representative, and I have no idea why they chose to start using it or where it came from. What a mess!
