The first technician that came out couldn't diagnose the problem

Poor Customer Service – The initial contact was good, but went downhill from there. The first technician that came out couldn’t diagnose the problem, so a second technician was sent out the same day (but much later). The second technician did diagnose the issue, but didn’t know how to resolve it. So, I was told someone will be out the next day. Three technicians (a HVAC guy and two plumbers) eventually came out early evening (around 4:30pm) the next day. They said they heard water in the exhaust pipe, but didn’t know how or didn’t want to go through the effort to get it out. So, I was told someone would come out again yet another day. With no specific time. When I mentioned something about the customer service and the lack of urgency while on the phone with the owner/supervisor, he hung up the phone on me and wouldn’t answer my calls. So, I went with another company. I’m not one to complain, and I was hesitant to post this review. However, I thought about the circumstances of two young ladies being in a house with no heat for two days, the issue was diagnosed, but there was a lack of urgency to resolve it. In my opinion, this may be a good company to go with if the issue isn’t too difficult. Otherwise, go in another direction. (my opinion)

  1. I would not recommend their service.

    Contacted them for a plumbing problem. Suppose to come out same day but did not make it. Contacted me and scheduled for the next day. They did not show up on the second day and did not contact me.

    They dropped me with no follow-up. I would not recommend their service. As far as the ability as a plumber I can not comment because we never got that far.

    Terrible. Absolutely avoid this guy, Jimmy. I called and asked for service to an HVAC unit in one of my rental units. We had an appointment between 3 and 6pm. At 6pm I called him to see where he was and he wasn’t aware of the appointment I scheduled with his equally incompetent office scheduler. He did swing by after he completed some of his errands and tried to bleed the line. He suggested a part be replaced on the indoor heat pump unit under the window and sent another guy out the next day.

    It was determined that the entire unit needed to be replaced. I called and left multiple messages to get a quote for the replacement. The turkey never called me back or billed me for coming out. He wasted my time. Don’t waste yours, avoid this clown

    Terrible attitude. Work shady at best. Paid $$ and got exposed wires held with electrical tape.

  5. James was great, and fixed our problem in no time at all. Thanks!

    Jimmy answered his phone directly when I had flooding in my laundry room from a clogged floor drain. He couldn’t send someone immediately but gave me a temporary solution until the next morning.

    The next morning, Sunday, Jimmy sent one of his crew, James, to help us out. James was great, and fixed our problem in no time at all. Thanks!

    The Jimmy Gusky team installed a new gas boiler in our home. They were very professional. Answered All my questions and completed the work on budget and on schedule. I’m very happy with their service.

  7. They're the ones that rescheduled me!!!

    I had Jimmy Gusky, LLC as the company selected by my home warranty company to come to my home for a plumbing and sump pump problem. They called me the day they were supposed to arrive to reschedule my appointment time and then they never showed up for the time they rescheduled it to either!!!!

    I called them to see what happened and was told that the tech never communicated to others about the time for my appointment and that I would receive a call back after the situation was discussed with them…

    I had a HORRIBLE experience with Jimmy Gusky and would not recommend this company to anyone. I had an emergency situation (tenants completely without heat) and was referred to him by a relative. He came to the apartment (late) visibly in a rush and talked to me for all of 5 minutes prior to taking a call and walking out.

    He informed me that it was an easy fix (without even taking a look at all of the problem areas) and he would come out the next day. He assured me he would be there that morning and the work would be complete prior to 3:00 (carpet cleaning was scheduled). As the day progressed without word from him, I checked to see the status of his arrival and was told his technician was running late.

    To make a LONG story short, the workman Never appeared. Nor did Jimmy have the decency to let me know what happened, despite numerous calls (it has been two weeks). I was forced on a Sunday to find someone on an emergency basis and paid a premium. I would not wish this experience on anyone and caution you against using this company.

    The worst……I called for a heating problem which was never fixed and now I go to turn on my A/C and it doesn’t work. It has been 3 months for the heat and 1 month for the A/C then he started sending my calls to voice mail. This is ridiculous. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS MAN TO MY WORSE ENEMY. negative 5 stars

  10. throughout the project, their crews left tools and debris in our yard and in our house.

    These two firms cut holes in our plaster ceiling and wood floor that looked like they used an ax. They cut through ceiling joists which caused the ceiling to start splitting due to the loss of structural integrity.

    They failed to get permits for the work as required by city code, and did not conform to code with the installation. Twice the City Inspector made them redo portions of their work. They left large gaps in plaster, drywall and wood flooring where they installed air registers and then claimed they were not responsible for the repair.

    On three separate occasions, they claimed to have completed the job. When we would subsequently ask them to test or demonstrate the system, we would find they had not done the electrical wiring, or charged the system with coolant, or had left components dangling from the ceiling. And throughout the project, their crews left tools and debris in our yard and in our house.

    I called and made an appointment for plumbing, and spoke to Jimmy personally. I was scheduled for a Wednesday, after hanging up, I realized I did not get the actual time of arrival. I called right back and there was no answer, so I left my name and telephone number on the voice mail, that was on Friday . Now it’s Wednesday the day of the scheduled appointment, NO call, NO SHOW!!! When I called the voice mail box was full.

    A couple seconds after I hung up it was Jimmy and he “stating he did’nt have my phone and the truck broke down”. I called Jimmy because of his five star reviews. I just wonder if he’s making up these reviews to drum up clients!!! Very disappointed!!!

    Jimmy Gusky was recommended to me when my furnace went out. They were very responsive and quickly diagnosed the issue and replaced the inducer motor as soon as possible. I highly recommend them.
