I went to one of the exquisite locations of Jackson Hughes to book for an event that my company was hosting. It included teams from different states and companies. I had a personal meeting with Jackson before setting up the date. I shared the details and he nodded to everything I had to say. He bragged about his locations and what he has accomplished so far.
He told me that there won’t be any issue. As the event was professional, I requested Jackson to be very precise about the details. He checked the open slots and gave me options to choose from. I brought those dates to my management and after checking everything and availability of all the teams, we set up a date from the given options.
The next day, I sent Jackson the mail about the date and the time. He eve acknowledged the date. He appointed a contact in charge for all the arrangements. It was all right as Jackson is a busy man. But the problem is that the person was not given any information about the event. I was supposed to go through all the details again which took me three hours on a stretch. The meeting was done in my office.
I paid the advance amount and the date was booked. After a week, I got a call from that person from Jackson’s office about a date change. I got frustrated and wanted to speak to Jackson Hughes. It was a huge event and the date was intimidated to everyone. There was so much on stake if we changed the date.
That guy told me that Jackson was out of town and would be available only after a week. I called for a termination of the deal. I asked him to get the refund and I started searching for other locations. I did find one and asked the guy to return the advance amount.
That person told me that he refunds would only be initiated once Jackson would be in the town. After a week, when Jackson arrived, we had a meeting. This guy is really arrogant. He said that these problems happen when you are in a business. And, said that the refund would not be made completely but partially.
I tried to talk him into it. But, he was persistent. He paid not even the amount agreed to. I had to reorganize the entire event somewhere else. This guy is an idiot and unprofessional. He did not have the courtesy to apologize. On the contrary, he blamed me for giving him so much trouble.
I am not sure if this is how a business works because if this is what his business is, its soon approaching the end. There is a lot of competition outside. And, one who has to be the best at customer service can not rule by his terms and arrogance for long. Jackson Hughes is a scammer and a liar. I wish I do not have to deal with him again.
