Imperial Spa

Not entirely clean

Disorganized– went for treatments but with their number system of greeting customers, therapist and front desk mis-communicated with one another and I ended up waiting an hour because they mixed up my appointment with someone else’s.

Not entirely clean. Each stall in the men’s room is also stocked with all of their cleaning supplies– cleaners, buckets, mops, paper towels. All just piled up around the toilet. So you feel like you’re going to the bathroom in someone’s broom closet.

  1. They were highly recommended by a friend, how disappointing...

Went in for a fill and was told no one was available. No offer to come back or set up an appointment. Basically just ” sorry, bye”. They were highly recommended by a friend, how disappointing…

  2. Bad Service.

Extremely rude personnel, we even didn’t make it for our appointment because of that. We booked 8:00 AM scrub and massage 2 days in advance. We were instructed to arrive at 7:30 AM to soak. The day before we received a confirmation phone call.

So, Saturday 7:30 AM, my husband’s birthday, we are in front of the closed door. After knocking on the door a male employee opens it in half, yelling at us that they are closed. Come at 8:00 – he said. We were trying to explain him why we were there, he yelled at us: “We open at 8:00” and shut the door.

  3. A shame, just not the same.

They have recently decided to charge if you have to cancel your appointment in less than a 24 hour period, even if you are ill, though they no longer call to remind you of the appointment.

I was a patron since. What I loved about it was they were never snobbish. Well that has changed, the new manager is quite condescending and encourages the front end staff to be the same. A shame, just not the same.

  4. I used to love it, it was so clean and more friendly.

I’ve been coming here for ages but recently it has been getting dirtier and dirtier. I looked down on the ground last time I was there and there was hair everywhere. It grossed me out. I used to love it, it was so clean and more friendly.

  5. NOT FRIENDLY AT ALL!

Sorry I can’t give it ZERO STARS! Everything in the older one-star posts is still true. Besides the front desk staff not being helpful, the men’s attendant is too busy watching movies on his computer to even get you a fresh towel.

The pools and steam room are dirty. The Kabuki Springs & Spa is across the street and IS worth the price. Do yourself a favor: RUN from this place, or better yet, don’t go in the first place. NOT FRIENDLY AT ALL!

  6. Not a place to go for serene relaxation.

My sister had some bridal time there before her wedding, so I gave it a try. The overwhelming smell of chlorine hit me as soon as I walked through the door and made me swoon. (Not in a good way.) I tried to keep an open mind, since I love spas and was excited to get scrubbed.

  7. So long, at least for us, Imperial Health Spa, in San Francisco.

Despite some concerns I read from other visitors both myself and my wife enjoyed this spa and the one in Garden Grove. Up until about a month ago both locations were owned by two Korean sisters.

They sold the business and the price of a massage went from $70 to $90, which I found out when I called for a reservation today. I also suspect that the staff has or is about to change as a result. While running the SF business the sisters maintained as tight a ship as possible, remotely. The Garden Grove location had always been superior.

  8. Not really satisfied.

  9. Don't know about their other services.

That was mistake number one. I was very sore from my workouts and decided to give them a try. I elected to try a swedish massage which was a big mistake. First of all, the attendant in the locker room spoke limited english.

  10. It's overall a nice place.

It’s overall a nice place. I really loved the Himalayan salt sauna which was very calming. The baths are pretty small and the place isn’t quiet as I was hoping for. Not sure I’ll ever go there again.

  11. The Imperial Spa was nice.

The Imperial Spa was nice. No place is perfect, here are the “highs” and “not quite as highs”. HIGHS: Very clean. Good lockers. Great steam room, Jacuzzi and cold dip. One of the 2 girls at the front desk was very friendly and knew how to smile. I did not get a scrub or massage so can’t comment there.

  12. Go to Kabuki Springs...it's right across the street.

Go to Kabuki Springs…it’s right across the street. This place only provides one towel and not too many amenities (only Kirkland shampoos and conditioners). I didn’t really feel relaxed after going here. They do have plenty of sit and shower stations, but only two people are allowed in each hot and cold tub. Their sauna and steam room is pretty small as well.
