Honolulu HomeLoans

Extremely Unprofessional

Erica M. Dzikowski was my first contact with Honolulu HomeLoans.

I thought I was pursuing an FHA loan and told her so on our first phone conversation.

At that point she condescended to me and told me that that loan had been out of favor for about four years and acted quite superior about it.

She embarrassed me and I felt she was extremely unprofessional and could have handled herself better.

She was not kind or understanding and the conversation ended on a very bitter note.

Unbeknownst to her, I had already been approved by two other loan companies at the time and feel she lost a great opportunity.

I was correct in my understanding that the FHA loan offers the best rate, but incorrect in the knowledge that it takes a full 6-9 mos.

For approval. All it would have taken was a kind understanding on her part.

She is obviously immature and I would strongly recommend you avoid her as a loan officer.

  1. Get ready to hemorrhage cash!

Get ready to hemorrhage cash! Not only were four loan officers unable to complete their duties in loan servicing, but even a VPs involvement proved to be little accord in what was to be an easy lending transaction for a single-family home purchase (excellent credit, steady mid level employment, sufficient down payment, etc). As a result of the incompetent work of these people, not only was the home pulled from contract,

but an additional $520 was lost to inspection. Specific sales tactics they will employ against you is high pressure closing, data obfuscation, and if that doesn’t turn a profit enough for them, they will rescind the loan at your expense. Bottom line, they WILL take more than their fair share or you WILL get nothing from them.

  2. Scammer

I was contacted by one of the loan officers to see if I would be interested in refinancing my loan since interest rates have dropped. After much thought, I decided to proceed with the refi.

  3. Bad Service Provide

This review does not speak for the whole company, just one individual that represents them to the public. We were referred to HHL by our RA to work with a loan officer with initials C.A. We had a good rapport with our RA so trusted his guidance.

C.A. started off cool as first, very socialable and friendly. But towards the end of closing, he got really cocky and was quite a jerk in communicating with us, the clients.

We closed on time, but he charged for services never provided, back-talked and basically waved me off when I tried to remind him of a prior conversation we had about the loan details, saying he didn’t remember and it was all irrelevant.

  4. No way to reach them.

Well, it’s not irrelevant to me and my family! C.A. was also cheap as heck when I asked for copies of executed documents because I needed it for work and other purposes.

He just kept saying I’ll get it in the final packet. Bad customer service doesn’t really make me want to be their repeat customer or to refer them to family and friends.

  5. Bad Service Provide

This is easily the worst lender you can find in Hawaii. Their only training appears to be sales games and other nonsense that diligent home buyers simply do not have the time nor resources in which to participate. For those in need of them for Lava Zone 1 lending, viable options include Central Pacific Bank, Pacific Isle lending, and others.

  6. He will most definitely be who we use for future lending needs.

Duncan Hsai closed a VA loan that seemed near impossible on many occasions. He was professional and timely every step of the way. In purchases and refi’s over the years,

I have worked with 6 loan officers – some good, one awful, most just fine; Duncan, the best. He will most definitely be who we use for future lending needs.

  7. Good Services

Kelly Sakai at Honolulu Home Loans was simply awesome to work with when refinancing a rental property of ours on Maui. Kelly walked us through the process step by step and always fought for what was in our best interest.

The current lending process can simply be crazy at times due to all of the rules and regulations. Despite all of that Kelly maintained a positive, can do attitude. Without her this loan would have never been approved. Mahalo Kelly to you and the rest of the staff at Honolulu Home Loans!
