Poor CommunicationI originally went to Homebridge Financial Services for a construction loan at the end of 2015.
The customer service was horrible. I spent more time trying to get in touch with my loan officer than actually talking to them.
I was bounced around to different people and I never got a straight answer.
The process took so long that I lost my contractor and I was loosing money due to the expenses of finding rentals for temp housing and administrative costs.
After almost six months of paperwork, poor communication and loosing money, I stopped the process. Or so I thought.
Today, one year later, I am hit with a $1300 inspection bill for services I’ve never requested outside of my initial inspection report.
If you want straight answers, a clear timeline, and someone to help you honestly navigate through the mortgage process, I suggest finding another company besides this one.

This was our second time doing business with Homebridge. This time, all of the headache, and extra steps were removed, and they even covered costs that we weren’t aware of until the end.
They also told our loan officer that no cost loans were not available for 4 plexes
Let me start off by saying that our loan officer was great…but as it turned out Prospect Mortgage charged us $6,000 in fees and points when other companies were charging .5% less with NO fees and NO points!
They also told our loan officer that no cost loans were not available for 4 plexes…apparently Prospect Mortgage’s only funder (CENLAR) is significantly higher priced than other banks…we are now in contract with another property and will save .5% APR and $6K in fees by shopping around. WON’T USE PROSPECT MORTGAGE AGAIN…
I will NEVER work with this company again and recommend other potential consumers look elsewhere.
If I could give negative stars, I absolutely would. I wanted to buy my grandparents small and outdated home. Renovate it with a 203k loan. At first, everything seemed good, loan officer seemed knowledgeable. Getting into the nuts and bolts of the loan was another story. The processor asked for the same documents multiple times.
I’d produce those documents within 30 minutes and send back, they wouldn’t get passed on to the correct parties, get another email a few days later asking for the same documents. This took a few weeks. My file would then go into underwriting.
The underwriter bounced the file out 4 or 5 times due to documents that should have been asked for in the beginning and weren’t because someone doesn’t know what the heck they are doing.
And don’t even get me started on a 24-48 hour turn around time for your file to go back to underwriting. Attempting to schedule a closing date was impossible because there was always something missed by someone on the business end that left the consumer scrambling and then waiting (and waiting). I will NEVER work with this company again and recommend other potential consumers look elsewhere.
