Heartland Cardiology

Make An Appointment

My PCP made an appointment for me to be seen at the 9000 Central Avenue location.

The next day I received a voice mail from Heartland to confirm my appointment and location, which was for the Webb Rd location.

After several attempts to verify my appointment was for the Central Avenue location and not Webb Rd, I was finally able to speak with a human at one of the other offices. She said that my appointment was for the Webb Rd. location.

I asked to change it to the Central Avenue location and she said that I could not get in to that location until October (the date of my call was August 24th).

So, I went to the Webb Rd. location which is inconvenient for me.

The day of my appointment was August 27th. I arrived at the Webb Rd. location at 2:00PM for a 2:15PM appointment.

The receptionist asked me if I brought my paperwork and I said, “no, I didn’t receive any paperwork”. She then gave me paperwork to complete before I went in for my appointment.

I was called into the exam room at 2:30PM. The first person who entered the room took some information from me and told me to finish completing the paperwork and someone else would be in shortly. Another person came in and said, “don’t bother completing the paperwork, I will ask you the questions and enter your answers into the computer”.

I was then given an EKG while sitting in a chair. At 3:20PM another person came into the room and said, “that the Doctor would be in shortly”.

I asked how much longer it would be and she said, “well, we had a lot of patients that needed to be worked into the schedule today because they were in the ER over the week end.”

OK, I get that. But if you know that you are going to have to work people in that were sick over the week end why schedule patients on Monday?

At 3:35PM the Doctor came in (over an hour after my scheduled appointment). He spent about 10 minutes with me and told me that I needed to have a heart sonogram and a stress test. He said to take the paperwork to the desk and go ahead and check out.

The person at the follow up desk told me that they would have to check my insurance to verify benefits and would call me the next day to set everything up.

I also had to sign a paper that stated I would be billed $230.00 if I did not give a 24-hour cancellation notice.

I called on 08.30.18. and 09.04.18. and left messages to see if an appointment had been scheduled.

As of today, September 16, 2018, I have not had any of the follow up tests and I have not had a phone call to schedule an appointment.
