Gulliver’s Movers and Storage

felt the sting again of the mistreatment of this company.

My initial move with Gulliver’s was in 1995 and the service was terrific. My second move was a move in two parts up to New York in 2002 and then to a house in 2005 – this was a disaster. Because I moved from a large house to a small New York apartment, I stored some of my furniture with Gulliver’s for several years until I bought a house. On the initial move, three pieces of furniture were badly damaged, as was the silver leaf frame on a large piece of artwork – the latter being strapped unprotected to the wall of the moving van and the silver damaged by the straps. On one dresser the finish on top was ruined because they placed other pieces directly on top of it. No repair could be done. On a mahogany tray table they broke the braces between the legs and dented the corners – this because they only wrapped these pieces in paper – no moving blankets, i.e. no protection. They “repaired” the tray table using plaster that they painted dark. The first time I polished it the soft white plaster was exposed. The third damaged piece was an antique drum table which they took back to fix as well – this piece has never been returned to me. I kept after the owner for several years and I could never get it back. They used my BBQ grill while they had it in storage for 3 years, and multiple other items including ladders and a moving dolly went missing – I assume they used them in their business. They refused to provide any settlement….after a couple years pursuing the owner I finally gave up. Why am I writing this review now? Well, I was just polishing the two damaged pieces, placing a decorative object to cover the dent in the top of the dresser, and felt the sting again of the mistreatment of this company….thought it was finally time to let people know.
