Get Up and Go Movers

I had to go out and buy a new tv and picture frame.

If anyone wishes to have their furniture destroyed, you’ve come to the right place. If you want to call their “insurance” for help, good luck with that too, as it appears they are uninsured.

I hired these guys to pack my daughter’s furniture into a rented U-haul and although they were nice guys, they packed some of the items in wrong, causing damage to the items. One of the items was a picture frame and the other was a tv that they packed upside down in the u-haul. I had not noticed how the tv was placed until I arrived at my destination. The guys unpacking the items from the uhaul at my final destination are witnesses to the upside down tv.

As a result of “Get Up and Go’s” packing, the picture frame was broken and the$500 tv would not work. I called the manager Marc and also sent him emails with evidence. He said he would “get back to me once he talked to the crew.” He then claimed a day later that it was not the crew’s fault that the items were packed incorrectly, stating that I asked them to pack the tv between the mattress. Yes, I did ask them to pack it in between the mattress but NOT upside down. They should know better. If they don’t know how to handle furniture, maybe they should get out of the moving business.

In any case, Marc did not provide me with the phone number to call his insurance company after I asked him several times to do so AND sent him evidence of the damage. It appears that he does not have insurance or has too many claims on the insurance and did not want another.

As a result of his unwillingness to address the situation, I put a stop payment on the credit card and now he has to fight it out with them to get paid. Good luck! In the meantime, I had to go out and buy a new tv and picture frame.

Whatever you have to say Marc, just save it. You’ve wasted enough of my time and energy.

Hired GUGM to help us move apartments this week and they were amazing! I initially hired them because they had availability on my moving date and because their pricing is better than most competitors, but I would hire them again because they’re careful, quick, tireless, and they even arrived early!

Oh and Mark apparently has excellent spatial reasoning because he got all the contents of our apartment to fit perfectly in their truck so that only one trip was necessary. They didn’t even mind having to work around me, my mom, and my newborn. Our movers of choice going forward!

  2. Great movers.

Great movers. very efficient. would use them again.
