Georgia Avenue Thrift Store

The store is not all that CHEAP FOR A THRIFT STORE.

I live in the area and go to the THRIFT Store a lot looking for books and other stuff they might have. Yes they do have a good selection of clothes but the PRICE in the store is too HIGH on some of the stuff. The credit policy SUCKS you only have 10 DAYS to us it or LOSE IT(your money)The color for the day you will be LUCKY if you can find the color, how do i know I have been in the Store and watch the workers pull the COLOR TICKET ITEMS off the rack, ask some of the regular people who goes to the store and they will tell you the place is high and you might find some ticket items but not many. The female staff is nice, the males act like the OWN the place come on guys you get the stuff FREE. I know they have to make a profit but enough is enough. The books are 66 cent not high but why not 4 for a dollar if they don’t sale they throw them away bring down the price you will be surprise how many will sell. The store is not all that CHEAP FOR A THRIFT STORE.

  1. No appreciation of personel space

Best thrift store. Have a vintage hat business so always looking for old lace etc.Never find any vintage here, must be weeded out , but this week for $30 2 pairs of brand new Ferragamo and a pair of Zaldos, fabulous purchases. Worked years for Nordys and Saks so can spot designer a mile off when peeps pricing cannot. To my advantage!!!!

Mossimo shoes would cost me $14.99!!! Prices abit steep for most clothes $6.99 for Ann Taylor Loft shirts crazy. But if you have time, some fabulous finds. Crowded, staff are pleasant , customers sometimes really rude.No appreciation of personel space

  3. I think Macklemore would approve.

GA Ave Thrift Store is a diamond in the rough. Literally. Many steals and deals can be found here, and the prices are quite reasonable compared to a consignment store.

Service is OK. If an item doesn’t have a price tag, they’ll call up a manager and usually you can haggle over the price with them, even better if you can speak Spanish. Also, they give a 25% military discount, which is awesome.

The parking lot is shifty at best. Often times there are homeless folks hanging out in front of the store begging for money, sometimes you catch folks doing some crazy stuff, like peeing in the middle of the lot (half-naked with their pants around their ankles), but perhaps that comes with DC’s urban territory. Regardless, we’ve never had a problem with parking, but be sure to lock up your car and use street smarts.

  4. I love this thrift store!

However today for some reason one of the cashiers whom i believe is the manager was really rude to me and i dont know why. Personally dont think you should be rude to your costumers especially if they are just asking a question. First time i have had someone treat me like that and i have been shopping at this thrift store for years. Would really like to talk to the business owner of this store.
