Geneva Financial

Stressful Experience

This should be a ZERO star review. We are in the process of suing Geneva Financial and their Loan Officer.

Lie after lie, an outrageous loan (extremely high costs and rate compared to the market), a missed closing date, and an all around incredibly stressful experience.

Try calling their home office number, you’ll get no one.

And when they cause a timing emergency because they don’t do their job, they go completely dark and you cannot get through to anyone.

They cost us $1,200 in per diem to the sellers, they ordered the appraisal with an incorrect purchase price (which caused us to have to come up with $5,000 more down), and the loan officer our of California will tell you one thing and immediately say he never said that…ON THE SAME CALL!

We tried to go to a different lender, but it was too late, we would have missed the already extended once closing date.

They drag their feet until you are stuck with them, then they stick it to you.

Why I did not read these reviews is on me…lesson learned!

  1. Could not recommend this company and these agents less.

Working with this company was an absolutely horrible experience. We worked with Edgar Martinez in Irving, TX and José “JC” Castañeda out of Arizona and could not have been more dissatisfied. We were supposed to close a week ago, but they didn’t have the clear-to-close document ready so we differed to today. We got lie after lie after LIE.

They STILL didn’t have the CTC document ready today and had me waiting for hours. End of day came, and we still (still! A week later) didn’t have the CTC. They promised they’d have it, but we decided to cancel business with them. They kept lying to us saying I stalled them by responding slowly, that I hadn’t provided documents that truthfully,

I had provided at the very beginning of the process, etc., etc., etc. We knew they were giving us excuses and the runaround, and we could not have the liability of them rushing and messing up and us having to pay the price in the future. Could not recommend this company and these agents less.

  2. Use anyone else.

Geneva Financial is the WORST! Use anyone else.

  3. THE WORST experience ever.

THE WORST experience ever. If I could give 0 stars I would. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Our Loan rep was very nice- but extremely disorganized and caused us to miss our closing date and caused our interest rate to go up.

They over promise and extremely under deliver. I had gone through the mortgage loan process before with a different company in 2014 (quicken loans), and expectations and timing were crystal clear. But expect headaches and surprises at every turn with Geneva!

I was selling my existing home and buying a new home. The loan rep confirmed multiple times that I alone would be approved for the new mortgage- and that it was not necessary to have my current home sold- and that it was not necessary to have my fiance as a cosigner.

So basically, my current home could be listed on the market, but it didn’t have to be closed/sold to be approved for a new mortgage for a new home we put an offer on. It sounded too good to be true! But she confirmed multiple times via phone and email that I trusted her and Geneva.

  4. stay away from this company!

they are now 3 weeks late on closing my deal. they waited until the day of closing to even order the appraisal. will not answer phone calls, emails or text messages! how are they in business???

  5. Very unprofessional establishment I recommend steering far away from this company.

This company is very shady the whole time I was working with one of the reps he started texting my daughter who by the way is married and he knew that trying to hook up with her . I guess pleasure before business with this company . Very unprofessional establishment I recommend steering far away from this company…….

  6. Glad some people had good experiences but like the other 1 stars mine was horrible.

Glad some people had good experiences but like the other 1 stars mine was horrible. They fucked up and I had to change my closing date twice. Lucikly I had my apartment until the first or else I do not know what I would’ve done with added costs of moving twice, buying storage and paying for a place to stay temporarily while paying all the fees to buying a house.

On top of, if I had a family and pets how stressful that would have been. It was already stressful enough to change my days off from work re-reserve my Uhaul, change my work schedule and tell my friends who took days off of work, two were able to re arrange their work schedules.

They fucked up not just one time, mistakes happen I understand, I am human too so when they said if there is anything we can do to make it up to you I let it be. I still had my movers was able to re-arrange my schedule and re-reserve my Uhaul. They forgot to send me the LE to sign.

I had two seperate LEs to sign because of the first time home buyers no interest down payment assistance loan my city offers and the house loan. The government will not let you move in until 72hrs of signing that document.

  7. I'd highly recommend anyone that try to get a home loan to contact them.

Great company, the two loan officers, Jenni Tieu and Dushan Arnold are excellent loan officers who always helping us. They have been working with us to get the loan approval, no matter what time of day or night, they always been there for us. I’d highly recommend anyone that try to get a home loan to contact them.
