Genesis FS Card Services provides horrible customer care

I’ve had a Kay Jewelers account for ten years and have never made a late payment.

I had set up the amount to be drafted out of my account for the wrong date, so it bounced, which is my fault.

However, five days later, they tried to rerun the payment, causing me to get two overdraft fees.

When I contacted Genesis, they advised me they only ran payment once and would not have run the charge a second time if it did not go through.

I spoke with three people after that, and they all said the same thing.

Today they call me, and I go over everything again. They transfer to a supervisor.

The supervisor gets on the phone and tells me I was misinformed and there is nothing they can do.

They wouldn’t even credit my account the $35 overdraft fee.

I asked them to close the account, and she did not have a care in the world to even attempt to change my mind—horrible customer service.

Also, in the past, I was told to close the account, I would have to go into Kay Jewelers with a notarized letter stating I wanted to close the account.

The interest rates are insane and tragic; I never had so many issues or bad service until they took over Sterling.

My payment is $111 a month, and they take $48 of interest out of that every month. It’s crazy.

    Opened up an account with GFS and when they sent me my card to activate I was happy thinking well I have a 700 credit limit great! Trying to rebuild my credit. Little did I realize the scam that was to come. So I went online searched for there website which was hard to find, finally found out regretfully put my SS number in and created and activated my account!!! So I thought?? Then I receive a text from GFS and they say that I have a charge for 39.99 and if this is not me press Y. So I did!!! Then a message appears saying my account is frozen and call 1800 blah blah blah. So I called 1800 blah blah blah and what do you know the only thing u can do on that auto dial message garbage is pay my 175.00 annual fee that I guess I’m charged which I had no idea ? Then the trick is YOU cant talk to them. They say that they are having “Technical difficulties” and call back at a later time. Well that makes No sense and now I have No Card and they think I owe them 175…Ya right. What worries me is tht they have my Social security number. Just disgusted!

  2. Horrible company and do not care

    Have had an account with Genesis for Kay Jewelers since April 2018 with 3K limit, have only been late one time but we always make over min payment by at least 50.00. Decided we want to make a purchase, stated accouny review required and then ” I’m sorry were closing your account”….no reason, no negotiating and no giving a care….. Never again!

  3. They could have looked at the check.

    Just received a refund check that was sent and it is and the check is void after 180 days great Genesis. They remailed it to us on. They could have looked at the check.

    I’ve NEVER heard of anything like this EVER. Customer service had no explanation and seemed clueless about their own process. Save your time and money and don’t even bother with this company or sketchy credit credit services. We be taken our jewelry business elsewhere and I will be sure to tell everyone else to do the same!

  5. Scammer

    This card is a joke! My fiancé and I have had this card for 8 months now and always made payments on time. Payments were also at least $30-$40 more than the minimum payment due.

    Out of nowhere with no communication on Kay’s end they closed the account and when asked why the simply stated that upon review of credit they decided to close the account.
