First Tech Federal Credit Union

DO NOT BANK HERE

Since pointing out their issues to First Tech Federal Credit Union does no good now that corporate is based in California, I guess I’ll add to the complaints here and give others the warning to not take their banking to First Tech.

The new location is awful, for sure (aside from the new way of doing things being incredibly slow, you can actually walk up behind the “experience professionals” or whatever made up name they gave them and see their computer screens as they enter in other people’s personal banking information), but it isn’t just that. Service here has tanked over the past couple years.

My list of complaints is long – canceling my insurance without talking to me first, sending deposits into the drive-through (when it existed) and waiting 15 minutes without acknowledging my presence, showing me other member’s information on their monitors (like actually turning the screen around, not just because of the layout of the new branch), not being able to understand how a DBA works, telling me people I don’t know are on my account when they weren’t, inability to total a deposit, etc. There is more than this, but you get the idea.

I truly have feared I’d wake up and they would have lost my information, showing a zero balance in my account because they are so poorly ran anymore, and the website has been so glitchy.

I do not trust them with my money anymore. I have put up with a lot from them for a very long time, but I am currently looking for a new credit union and will switch as soon as I find one. DO NOT BANK HERE. You will regret it.

  1. Don't waste your time!

Worse freaking place ever to do any banking with! Newly account here and I regret it! I deposited my rent relief check and within 2 hours it was flagged fraud and my access to my account was locked. Cant talk to anyone who apparently has any common sense. I call the paying bank and the check has been paid and cleared already but I still have no money or access to it. This is definitely against regulations but they don’t care. However I’m sure my lawyer will open their eyes since it has now been well over 2 weeks and i still have no idea whats going on and I was never informed of any thing even being wrong until a week after

  2. I will never use them.

Worse customer service ever. I will never use them.

  3. I received a call and they blasted me like I knew it was fraud and made me fell less like a victim but as a perpetrator!

At First, everyone was nice and pleasant. I was referred by a friend so I thought I would open an account since their ATM cards do not have fees and they reimburse fees from other ATMs. My account got hacked within 2 days of opening and someone tried to put a check into my account.

Yep, it was a fraudulent check. I received a call and they blasted me like I knew it was fraud and made me fell less like a victim but as a perpetrator! I have called and emailed numerous times and each time they are going to get back to me and fix my on-line account and unlock it! Been 3+ weeks and still no response!

  4. I give these guys zero star if I can as this bank is just not worth working with.

I give these guys zero star if I can as this bank is just not worth working with. They ask for a ton of documents up front just to generate a quote while most banks ask for information close to underwriting process.

I worked with a banker Gregory and I will advise folks to stay away from him as it is just a total waste of time to work with someone who cannot take time to review/match deals or treat the customer nicely to earn their business!

  7. I could not help me with some basic queries.

I have been having First Tech Credit Union account for 3 years and every time I call their customer care, I feel like talking to some one from different planet. I could not help me with some basic queries.
