I met with one of the bank managers(first office on the right) in November to close my checking account…I switched to US Bank because Fifth Third Bank continually charged bogus fees & had errors on bank statements.

The manager at Fifth Third Bank confirmed the account was closed.

I later received a letter for an overdraft fee…WHAT THE HELL?!

Do not use Fifth Third…they will try to steal your hard earned money.

    Can I give zero or negative ranking? My mortgage company recently bought by 53. The account transfer process is such a pain made by 53. Cannot believe 53 still exist with such a horrible service.

  2. Absolutely Horrible Customer Service!!

    Absolutely Horrible Customer Service!! I was passed from person to person waiting on hold for a combined total of 28 minutes. After that holding period the second department I spoke to wanted to transfer me back to the first person. Idiots!!

    Plus their online payment options have gone down hill over the years. When I first started with 5/3rd I love the online bill pay options, now it is a cluster! I will be moving my accounts, including my mortgage and credit card to another bank!

    If I could give a negative star I would. Every time I use my card at pump it gets blocked…I deposited a tax refund check and a 10 day hold was placed and now I have to go in to a branch for the money to be released…

    I will be so thankful when I can break away from this bank…and let’s not forget the customer service, atrocious…gives out misinformation when calling.

  4. The WORST experience I have EVER had with a banking institution!

    Fifth Third bank is HORRIBLE! I have spent 5 hours dealing with the incompetent staff at this bank and have been a member for less than 30 days. They do NOT tell you after you spend 2 hours opening an account that you can’t use the online bill pay site for 30 days.

    You can’t get through to anyone in customer service that will say anything other than “I’m sorry you feel that way” followed by “there is nothing we can do”. Go anywhere else! Hide your money in coffee cans in the yard and pay a neighbor kid to dig them up before going to this cluster f of an organization.

    The WORST experience I have EVER had with a banking institution! I’ll burn my money before I give them anymore of it!
