Had very limited contact with Fidelity National Title Company of Oregon the day we were supposed to close. They had failed to contact the sellers.
They would not work with the mortgage broker to supply the requested forms needed for our loan.
Then they claimed not to be able to send forms for a week or more after they had already sent them to the mortgage broker.
They completely screwed up the documents for closing-screw ups which included failing to note our deposit ($28,000); charging 2x the amount of title fees; and charging us for closing which we had agreed with the sellers wouldn’t our cost as buyers.
No one in the office knew how to handle the closing and our mortgage broker had to hold their hands throughout the process.
Even after everything was completed, they literally had to be told it was time to take the title and file it with the county.
They had to bring the report in on that day in order to have it be filed before the end of the month.
Unbelievable. Closing was uncertain until the last minute. I would give negative stars if I could.
