Dr. Evan Ransom seemed to know what he was doing when I came in asking for a non-surgical rhinoplasty to conceal my dorsal hump, using Radiesse. He did not inform me of the possible side effects such as swelling, so I expected immediate results. When I saw my nose, it was very swollen. I immediately started crying because I though it had went wrong. I wish he told me that swelling was normal before.
I would have had more reasonable expectations. After the swelling subdued, however, I noticed that my bump was hardly concealed and I needed an adjustment. Before the procedure, I asked if my bump would be gone, and he answered yes. When I went back for a follow up appointment, the doctor claimed that he was unwilling to fix it because of the way I reacted. He claimed I was “unstable” and not the right candidate for a cosmetic procedure for crying afterwards. It made me feel so insecure. I felt blown off and like he thought I was crazy. I know my reaction surprised him, but I feel like he could have been a lot more supportive. It was my first cosmetic procedure. Overall I felt like I left unhappy and regretful.
