My husband and I were looking to buy our first home together and decided to capitalize on the Down payment Assistance Program offered in AZ.

We were contacted by David Lee w/ Essex Mortgage about the program.

Sadly we quickly learned that David was never open and honest with us from the beginning.

We feel like he baited us for our business & then once we were hooked in (contracted signed & in escrow) all the truths came out about the loan terms and the down payment plan.

He pushed us to close early (which we didn’t not want to and we chose not to) and he couldnt even get the loan closed on time!

When we questioned him about issues we had, he would do everything in his power to dodge the question.

I’ve worked in real estate for 15 years and have never experience a fraud like him.

I would NEVER recommend anyone to do business with David or this company.

The ONLY perks of this whole transaction was we did finally close and He referred an AMAZING agent to us…I would highly recommend her (Natalie Gantner w/ AZDP Group).

  1. Before August, I had a great experience with this company. Fast, helpful, and reliable when it came to forbearance. That all changed in August, when the new servicer took over. Since then, they have reported me falsely delinquent, caused my credit score to plummet twice after fixing it once, and they don’t want to honor my previous loan terms with the past servicer. Instead of sending me a written notice that I can send my reduced payment without any issue, they sent me a loan modification. I’ve been getting tons of emails saying I owe my deferred amount, but I am under an FHA loan and so I do not owe a lump sum. I got an aggressive email saying my partial claim process was not completed — but this doesn’t need to happen as they should be honoring my previous loan terms!!! I have gotten a hold of people because I’ve reported them nonstop to BBB and the Consumer Protection Financial Bureau. It’s okay for about a month and then I see my credit score drop again. For zero reason! There’s zero missed payments on my account, yet this company has marked me 170+ days late due to my deferred amount. Sucks it has to be that way.

    i was 20 days behind they set up payment plan and then when i called to make payment i was told sorry dont see that and every manager was in a meeting and would call me guess what no call and they gave me the number of that i called to talk to original people that have made disagreement and guess what it was the number that I called that I was talking to the guy I don’t understand why they don’t want the money and the online payment won’t take more than one payment at a time it seems like 2007 is being repeated and the housing market scam

  3. Liars who can't manage payments

    These idiots have my payments and tell me they see them in the system. Yet when I call they say I am behind…I am NOT and can prove it. Despite this issue being “researched” by them, they suddenly reported me as 30 days LATE which made my credit score lose 72 points at one time. I am beyond livid with these scam artists!

    Never ever do business with them. They are dishonest, disreputable and have a complete lack of respect for the law or for their customers or real estate affiliates.

    The “manager” of the branch, or the person that claims to be the manager at 2200 W. Orangewood Ave, #150 in Orange, CA 92868 is beyond belief in a NEGATIVE way! Unresponsive, misses deadlines and lies constantly.

    Not sure of her name but think it is cece or something. DOESNT EVEN HAVE A LICENSE!!!!!! NEVER use this place, whether your a realtor or a home buyer, stay away. Their license should be revoked for terrible business practices.
