Equifax

The Business Of Making Itself Is Lrrelevant

Equifax is supposed to be trusted with our credit information to show if we are creditworthy (trustworthy).

Yet the company gives away on 143000000 Americans Social Security numbers and other private information.

I say they give it away because if this company took security seriously, this never would’ve happened or they would’ve caught this way earlier.

Now anybody can apply for credit with those people’s information. If other people can apply for those peoples credit.

Then, what’s the point of credit Bureau that won’t have accurate information? I think this company is in the business of making itself is Irrelevant.

Thanks for giving my information away. you should be offering more than just some BS credit monitoring that your own company provides.

Like I can trust that that’s probably the next breach.

  1. They have been manipulating the masses.

Dismantle this entity! People have awaken to the injustice of these credit bureaus. They have been manipulating the masses.

  2. Bad Services.

    1. Practically impossible to speak to a real human just cycles you through increasingly useless and inefficient automated systems that are so dated it advises against using a mobile phone. (I haven’t had a landline since I was 10.)
    2. The customer services agents are poorly trained morons. I’m 19 and understand more about credit than the girl on the other side did. For example, I know that having no credit history and no credit report are two different things and can logic out that banks have encountered people with no credit history before even if they have not encountered someone who’s credit report shows an error message (the reason why our bank asked us to call them in the first place).

  3. Therefore, I am unable to work.

It is unfortunate to see so many negative reviews but it’s nice to know I am not the only one that has had/is having, a terrible experience with this so-called company.

I recently moved to a new Province and was hired by an insurance company. In order to be able to sell insurance I had to write 2 certification exams and then a government exam. I passed all the exams yet I am still not able to get my licence because of Equifax.

In order to get my licence the company I am employed by needs to do a credit check which they are unable to do because equifax has my wrong year of birth. Therefore, I am unable to work.

  4. This has to be the worst company I have ever had to deal with.

This has to be the worst company I have ever had to deal with. Had my bank switch credit card companies so I got the balance rolled over on to my new card. well equifax never updated my credit info for the old card. now I am starting an investigation with them in to the info on my credit report.

The call centre is based in the Philippines so the rep on the phone can be quite hard to understand at times. I talked with the credit card company and they have sent me the info showing the cards paid they said they sent equifax the info, but equifax says they cant check that info. So I ask to talk with a manager, all you get is a circular conversation with excuses as to why you cant talk with a manager or supervisor.

  5. Its is despicable.

You do one god damn thing and say “Yes please hold while I get my manager on the line Sir” and then the manager gets the call. But clearly this is a company policy because all of that above didn’t happen to me once but twice when i called on two separate occasions. Both times they unfolded identically word for word. Its is despicable.

  6. Scammer

After doing all the above, and signing the dispute form, I receive an email saying they cannot make any amendments on my file and they I need to submit my social insurance number(which I did), sign my dispute(which I did), and submit proof of my date of birth because my fax wasn’t legible.

I sent my documents in twice, on different days, there is no way both aren’t legible. Regardless, they entered my year of birth incorrectly, not me. It should not be a battle to get it changed especially when they have the correct date as well, like just delete the wrong file for goodness sake.

  7. Never Again

They leaked all my personal information and someone stole my identity

  8. NOT Recommended.

Equifax should be severely punished for carelessly letting all our personal data be hacked. OK but here’s the real kicker. Our government social security office uses only Equifax to get to your data. The government should be prosecuting them, not giving them business at OUR EXPENSE !

So if you opted out of Equifax because of their carelessness, good luck dealing with government agencies. Someone is getting kickbacks here. p.s. I would give them negative stars if i could, they don’t deserve even 1 )

  9. I hope this forces them out of business.

They let hackers in and get our personal data. I want to protect myself from damage associated with their error, so I went in to freeze my credit report. I’ve tried a half a dozen times and only gotten an error message.

Equifax screws it up and don’t even allow its victims to protect themselves. Equifax is the worst of the worst. I hope this forces them out of business.

  10. Scammer

of course i have free id protection through my CU and I had to authenticate my id, and its supported by Equifax, so on hold….. forever

  11. horrible to talk to.

horrible to talk to. These people are a mess, fully capable of screwing a persons life with information mismanaged. My wife simply tried to get verification of her employer date of hire, for an important credit reference, the property we are trying to qualify to rent, NIGHTMARE. Avoid this company

  12. I'll try one of the other services, either Experian or Transunion.

There was no call back even thought I had given her my cell number. Apparently they don’t want you to enroll in the free program as they are starting a new program afterJan 31. I’ll try one of the other services, either Experian or Transunion.

  13. I hope this forces them out of business.

  14. He is extremely rude!!!

They leaked all my personal information and someone stole my identity

  15. Hope they close up shop after all this.

Had a data breach that they were slow to disclose. Tried to have me pay for credit monitoring and to freeze my data that THEY lost and then when trying to set up a pin to freeze the system hangs up without repeating so no chance to write it down. Hope they close up shop after all this.

  16. i hope most of you at the top go to jail or never work again.. shame on you..

the credit worthiness assessment model in the US is garbage.. ur SSN should have never been a means of IDing you or your financial worth.. these guys (the big 3) have taken this info and have gone rogue with it… mostly they sell your data to credit card companies to have you sign up for more credit while getting a kickback for the ads they show and the info they sell..

this is nothing more than a forking greed driven money grab. if you have a music major as your corp security chief i have to ask what do you spend time talking about in your corp meetings? how to fleece people and line pockets of those not in the know and keep the scam going?

you lost my data which you collected without my consent.. i am coming for you via litigation.. i am coming for you in small claims, class action and any other court or legal way possible. i hope most of you at the top go to jail or never work again.. shame on you..

  19. I look forward to joining a class action suit that will result in the liquidation of this company.

Their lack of security and poor management oversight caused a major data breach for millions of accounts. The severity of this breach has yet to be recognized. This is all because they did not install a patch for a known vulnerability in their software.

Drivers license, account and social security numbers as well as current and former addresses plus much more are in the hands of criminals. The effects of this will be in the billions of dollars spread over businesses and individuals throughout the country.

The insider trading of executives dumping their stock prior to the announcement shows how little they care. I look forward to joining a class action suit that will result in the liquidation of this company.

  24. How is it that Equifax can steal/sell or lose my information an then offer zero assistance?

How is it that Equifax can steal/sell or lose my information an then offer zero assistance? Their website cannot possibly support the traffic and continually crashes; their people are untrained and uninterested; the CEO called it a “humbling experience” (!) and their offer of Credit Monitoring is a pathetic example their unethical business.

My view? If they were so inept at handling my data in the first place, why would I want them to monitor it? They had (1) job to do and they failed. And we get to suffer the long-lasting effects of their stupidity. Way to go, Equifax. Nicely played…

  28. WHO DO THESE JERKS THINK THEY ARE ANYWAY????

They let themselves get hacked, wait until they sell their stock before notifying the public (insider trading—a jail time offense) then give lame excuses and act like it’s no big deal.

BY THE TIME THE AMERICAN PUBLIC AND THE COURT SYSTEM ARE THROUGH WITH YOU WITH THEIR LAWSUITS YOU WILL CEASE TO EXIST!!!

I hope those responsible for this mess go to jail for the rest of their lives and meet up with 300 lb. Bubba who wants to make all of them his woman 365/24/7 because that would be the best Karma yet for what they have done to the American public!!

  29. LOSER COMPANY!

Not deserving of 1 star. EQUIFAX is the worst of the 3 major credit bureaus and clearly has a group of losers at the top. They allowed person information of some 150 million people to get hacked/stolen, and waited 6 weeks to report while their execs dumped stocks. Can you say CRIMINAL? CEO should be in jail! Then they offer 1 year of free credit monitoring which is required by law anyways after a hack.

Experian cannot be trusted with critical data that, unfortunately, Americans don’t even get a choice in which bureaus can manage. This company should have their doors SHUTTERED forever….what good are they? Their reckless mismanagement is a threat and the criminal behavior of their leadership makes it apparent why they are such a LOSER COMPANY!

  30. Don't dare explain it to me, so maybe I could be sympathetic and understand, you worthless, lazy parasites.

I won’t recite all my complaints bc they’ve already been published here anyway. Except one: when I try to go online to get my free credit report, all these worthless cashsuckers can do is send up error messages telling me something in my data won’t let them put it online.

With all these super marksmen and global terrorists everywhere, why can’t those guys go aim their guns, car bombs, hijacked planes, oversexed crotches and AK-47s at the toilet-bowl scum who work at Trans-Union, Experian and Equifax?

THEY are the real terrorists, profiting off the wreckage they create every day by compromising millions of Americans’ lives… then giggle all the way home with their overstuffed paychecks.

If that evil, sociopathic bastard we just elected as president had any presence of mind, he’d create legislation to oversee those dangerous Americans who are deliberately and intentionally destroying their fellow Americans’ lives with faulty credit histories, rather than sending 800,000 kids someplace where they have no homes or families.

  31. Nothing is hidden forever. They will go under.

Scammers. Rigged system. They are in bed with the evil corporations and the U.S. Government. They disabled reviews on Google and Facebook because they do not want you to see the dirt that they do. They leave negative information on your credit that clearly should be removed.

They say they investigate but do nothing. How can a company say you have an account with them, when you never had one. No proof. No signature. Just their word against yours.

And then they will not let you re-dispute on something twice. BUT God is not mocked and they will pay for their dirt. You will answer one day. Nothing is hidden forever. They will go under.

  32. Basically they make it impossible to cancel during the first week and said there policy is NO REFUNDS!

Terrible. Did a $1 weekly trial. Tried twice during the week to cancel it. Was put on hold for over 30 mins each time and had to go back to work. They have no other way to cancel. You can sign up all day long online, but cancel. On the 7th day, my account was charged 19.95.

I finally told my boss i have to call. After 40 mins on hold i finally spoke to a rep. They cancelled my account, but were not able to refund any or partial of my 19.95. They were extremely rude and unhelpful.

They would not cancel my account as of today and I was even able to except a prorate. Basically they make it impossible to cancel during the first week and said there policy is NO REFUNDS!

  33. They are holding up my loan process. they shoud be sued.

worst possible customer service. no access to a live human being. i want the freeze taken off my name. equifaz wanted me to post the 10 diget number they issued to me 10 years ago!! when i tried to recover it through their computer system,

the system did not recognize my name, ssn, and birthday! How the hell did they put a freeze on my credit if they do not have/or recogniza my name, ssn, and b/d. I wrote a letter over a week ago, speiclal mailing. The letter was quranteed to be there on Friday, June 10th.

I have not heard back. today is june 16 and I have not heard back. they are holding up my loan process. they shoud be sued.

  34. This company is a JOKE.

Seriously, these are the people handling my credit report? Spoke to 10 different people, could barely understand their broken English. After 16 calls(no exaggeration) I finally got my request taken care of….i think. I made the same request last year and was told that it was taken care of.

A year later I am having the same problem. Who the hell makes the decision on which companies are used for credit reporting? Who over they are they should have to call these geniuses and deal with the mounds of BS that we all have to deal with. This company is a JOKE.

  35. Bad Service Provide

Do not sign up for anything with them! Good luck getting a hold of them to cancel it! Wow. Awful.

  36. I have contacted all companies that I deal with not to do business with them.

I have just asked for a Equifax report and have found my rating at 621.The purpose was to secure a lease for my son. I am a guarantor ie I pay for the lease. I have had one non payment where I refused to may inrerste on my Hudson Bay MasterCard because of their error. No other non payments ever. I also have good investment portfolio.

They do not consider assets, do not verify information provided to third parties, they disclose personal information; are not responsive to the errors in my report and have negatively impacted me on interest rates notwithstanding the error ($174) in my credit history. I can not understand why any business would use their services. I have contacted all companies that I deal with not to do business with them.

  37. Not what I was looking for in a "fraud alert" service.

I am not one for writing or submitting reviews of products or services. I have a very busy schedule and high pressure job. Thus, to take the time to write a review is just not high on my priority list. However, after the horrible experience and service we received from Equifax Fraud Protection Services, I made the time.

We joined Equifax Fraud Protection Services in April of. My wife and I joined the “Family Plan”. Even after reading many bad reviews about the service, we joined anyway due to the fact that they are also a major credit reporting agency. We felt that would be best.

We quickly realized that their service was very slow and behind. I set certain levels on my personal webpage to receive alerts based on the information I provided. I wanted to be alerted if there were any charges of $100 or more on credit cards, etc.

During this time, I would charge things over $100 on different cards. It took, on average, 3-5 days for an alert to pop up on Equifax. In that time a criminal could charge thousands to my cards.

My Amex card immediately sends me a text and email every time there is a charge on that card. But, it took Equifax 3-5 days to send an alert. Not what I was looking for in a “fraud alert” service.

  38. I will never use Equifax's online subscription products again.

I will never use Equifax’s online subscription products again. They do not provide a way to cancel the subscription online. Rather archaically they force you to call a phone number. Once you navigate the menu and wait your turn,

you can then provide a substantial amount of personally confidential information to what is an obviously outsourced individual. After reading a sales pitch to keep the subscription active and stating several times that you have made up your mind you can get the subscription cancelled.

It is very unfortunate that I was an account holder for six years to add a layer of security to my credit score only to feel the most vulnerable after providing everything an identity thief needs to a person on the other end of the line, just to have the right to cancel my recurring payment, when it should be a button in the portal.

  39. If I Could give them less than 1 star I would. They SUCK, SUCK SUCK!

Have talked to them 4 times today. I’ve been transferred 4 times, hung up on and lied to several times over the past 3 hours. After a fraudulent charge was put on my credit report, they are the only one of 3 credit rating services that has still not removed the fraudulent charge. The creditor has even contacted them at least three times at my request on top of the regular reporting they do. Equifax insists they never heard from them.

The creditor (Verizon) cancelled the fraudulent account the same day I first spoke with them and e-mailed me and the 3 credit reporting services all at the same time. Verizon has been nothing but helpful and really gone out of their way for me. Equifax has been rude on top of rude, refusing to let me talk with a supervisor on several occasions.

They are literally ruining my life since I am trying to apply for a small business loan and their erroneous report is the only thing standing in my way. Everytime I’ve spoken with Equifax today I get a different story and no one is willing to even try and help.

Transunion and Experian have been both professional and helpful. Equifax is horrible and they really don’t care to help someone who has been a victim of fraud. If I Could give them less than 1 star I would. They SUCK, SUCK SUCK!

  40. Terrible company.

Terrible company. They have my credit score incorrect. Equifax shows an open loan that has been closed for 8 years. The phone system you call goes through a bunch of options only to let you know you need a confirmation number.

Their website won’t let me open a dispute because it cannot verify me due to the questions asking about the account that is really closed. Just wasted 2 hours of my life to find out that I have a lot more work to do in order to fix their mistakes.

  41. DO NOT CHOOSE SINGLE PARTY!!!

Tried to lift a freeze on my credit to allow my credit union to pull a credit report for an auto loan. Choices for doing this are: lift for a single party to review, lift for a date range, or permanently lift. DO NOT CHOOSE SINGLE PARTY!!! When you log in, it says my freeze has been lifted. However, when the credit union tried twice it still said it had a freeze hold.

Nowhere in the letter I received when I placed the freeze, or their website indicate that by choosing this option, you will receive a letter in 5 to 10 business days with a PIN # to provide to the “single party”. Unless you want to wait for 3 weeks to get this letter with information on what to provide your lender and train them on logging into to a different system under Equifax Freeze then by all means, you might try it When I explained the situation to them, they indicated I did it wrong by listing “single party” and she explained the above process.

She then proceeded to place a date range hold for me, but charged me another $10!! When I explained no disclosure of what “single party” process was, i.e. 5 – 10 business days, etc. She still insisted I did it wrong. Not worth arguing over $10!
